.at least you can get decent BBQ close by and with a lot of the hickory coming from Southern MO. I miss Missouri. Of course the SEC championship was a disappointment especially from a division prided in great Defense.

Still wonderful people that have a natural affinity for wine, pork and spices. The Ozarks are beautiful when your actually vacationing there.

Temps hit -8.5°F last night (-22.5°C) then a "warm" front moved in and the temp rose quickly to what is now 5°F at 7:10 am. I guess I will find out in April if some of my vines suffered damage.

They trimmed down that saying to fit on the license plates.

It used to be "Show Me Again, Only This Time Slower" state.

I know we're not super cold here in North Texas but I've had wine sitting at the FedEx facility in Hutchins, Tx since last Thursday (before Icepocalypse). I hope the bottles will be okay, delivery is now expected to be tomorrow. A little worried after seeing the burgundy bottles on WB forum.

For the first time in a week, we're above the freezing point here in sunny Colorado. Feels much warmer than the 40F that's registering - so much so, actually, that I may have to have a stogie. An anti-malarial is likely in my near future, too.

It must be the humidity and proximity to the sun, because it ALWAYS feels warmer in Denver by about 10 degrees at least!

Get out yur bermuda shorts and tank top!

-10°F last night. Just hoping it's not like this all winter, as it has been a long time since it was this cold in December. Must be global warming....

They are expecting lows around Chicago on Monday around -10°F again. What in the world??? Maybe this will kill off the Japanese Beetles, but I doubt it.

Weird wave pattern in the jet stream. I hate these years. We have had some bit of a warm up. Today peeked at 44F, but snow is slow to melt, and with all of the salt things are a mess. Rain this evening, and I'm really hope it doesn't start icing. Rain and cold tomorrow as well. I have had my car coated in several inches of Ice a few years back. After 4 days I had to actually take a craft hammer and a small wood chisel and chipped at the edges to get into my car, even with remote start, its such a hassle. The roads are even worse.

Ice switching to snow all day in KC today. Going to be cold at the Chiefs v Colts game tomorrow. Forecast is calling for windchill around 0 degrees F.

Go CHIEFS!!!!

Some of the best games at Arrowhead are played in the cold weather. I remember bringing down battery heated socks and gloves for my KC friends when coming down for reserve duty in KC,MO.

Should be a great game, and hopefully the Chiefs have found their rhythm on offense, now it would be nice to see the Defense and special teams work in synchronicity with the newly found offense and start their march to the playoffs. Go Chiefs.

We need the return of the Snickers commercial where the end-zone painter letters CHEFS in the end-zone because he needs a Snickers bar….

Ice storm cancelled for tonight into tomorrow. Should have highs in the high 30s.. Snow the next day, as Westward weather changes the pattern of wet Texas weather coming up over the past few days.

Freezing rain all day in Chicago yesterday, but I don't think it was as bad as Texas a few weeks ago. Today just the tail end of the snow, but further north is getting 7-12 inches. This should be cleared up for what will be a huge travel day on Monday, especially those silly people constantly driving cross country (Old Doug)

-3.5°F and it's only 9:30PM. Could be a long cold night.

Was only 6° this afternoon when I was outside changing a coworkers flat tire in the hospital parking lot. If you think that's cold, try doing that while wearing hospital scrubs and a jacket!

Please don't send that weather East. I can completely understand why Flickinger is holding my wine, and appreciate that.

Seasonal temps. Currently 34 and will get to 50F today and then in mid-50s for next few days. Clear, sunny and predictable. My condolences to all who are struggling with ice, snow or sub-freezing temps. Stay warm!

-3.5°F outside right now. Temps are much worse up north, and overall I am getting used to this crap weather. "experts" say that January will be better than December was....but it is a tough mindset right now with two months to go and we have already had more "winter" this last December than the last two years combined.

Patiently waiting for that 1st big snowstorm.....

I've got socks on. It's supposed to get into the mid-70's, but right now it's feeling a tad chilly.
