I get it. It's like telling your opponent that they're going to win, just to jinx them. It looks like it worked. Tom Brady laid an egg.

Too funny. I've been passive/aggressively smacked

My team is going backwards. Falling apart.

Silver lining - at least my entire team decided to effectively take a knee Sunday. Maybe they will be back with a vengeance next week!!

Mine is also sliding, likely going under .500 after Monday Night Football. Not a bad showing, but had to go up against Melvin Gordon’s 33+ points, and of course Buzz scoring 125 total points, after scoring the least points overall leading up to,this week...

Let's call this equity week - the rockets have slowed and the tortoises are starting to gallop.

In the end it makes for a better, more interesting season when any team can throw elbows as hard as the next. If that's where we are headed I'll take it :)

Somehow Stefan Diggs, who led the league in yardage, caught exactly one pass last night, and Carlos Hyde played himself out of the featured back for an 0-5 team. So my whupping is complete.

Our league has so many 2-3 teams. ;)

Dropped 7 spots in total points. My oh my...

And I think perfect turn and midtown marauder is flipped in the standings :)

Perfect Turn has the second lowest points scored in the Rouge league, but the best overall record. Time to buy lottery tickets

No, it's time to be reminded that while offense puts fans in the seats, defense wins championships.

Midtown Marauders (who I play this week) is 4-1 while I am only 3-2. So will save my lottery money for wine, as usual.

Sure is a grind with David Johnson on IR!

The number of points scored against me is astounding (marauders). I wish I could take credit for great defense.

I just noticed that in the Rouge CdN and Blanc CB divisions, while having the same overall W-L-T record (2-3), one team in each is ranked at the bottom of the teams with the same record even though they have a better Divisional W-L record. Shouldn't the Div ranking first consider the overall record, then the Div record, then the overall points? We might need a rule update.

that is confusing.. i don't even know where in the settings this is set...
anyone know?

i thought it's overall record, then Pts For..
but for Rouge league, it's not by pts for.. it's not by div record either.. bizarre.

I believe that since the beginning of these 8 team CT leagues we've used total points as the primary record tie breaker. I remember us reasoning that with only 8 teams in a league divisions don't make such a difference and that if we broke ties with division records we were relatively more apt than in larger leagues to put weaker teams into the playoffs over stronger teams.

The discussion of tie breakers has reminded me I really don't know the rules. Is there any Merit to the regular season or is it simply just make it to the playoffs and that is where everything is determined? I kind of scroll through the pages but didn't really see anything.

I always thought that it was Overall record, with total points being the tie-breaker , so I agree with you.

Since this is my first season doing CT Fantasy Football, can someone give a quick primer on how playoffs and standings and everything work (when it comes to winners and losers and prize distribution)? I noticed mc2wines is posting both standings (which I understand) and then total points... I get that typically, total points are the tiebreaker when two teams have the same record, but is there something else about total points between both leagues that I need to know?

Last year's thread had the rules in the first post - I assume that those rules have not changed, Commish?

I think this is all moot for me - David Johnson gone Game 1, Aaron Rodgers gone Game 6, Stefan Diggs out with a groin injury (they are always so slow to heal). Tough sledding.

Regular season Total Points leader wins a bottle (alho it's the 16th pick) :)
Otherwise, yah regular season is just to see who makes the playoffs.. that's where u win bottles.

OK. I'll take a shot at this. I have faith that someone will correct me if I am wrong

League Playoffs:

4 teams
2 Division winners plus
2 best records
Total points is the tie-breaker for seeding

Once the playoffs are over, I think that we then rank the top 2 winners in each league based on playoff record and points. The two league winners are ranked 1 and 2, based on total points. The two second place winners are then ranked by points.

THe wine distribution, last year, was as follows:
Wine distribution
1. 1st
2. 1st
3. 1st
4. 2nd
5. 2nd
6. 3rd
7. 3rd
8. 4th
9. 1st
10. 1st
11. 2nd
12. 2nd
13. 3rd
14. 4th
15. highest point total (regular season)
16. highest point total (playoffs)

close! So playoffs are week 15/16 (week 17 is not used b/c too much resting players/uncertainty on week 17, so generally in most leagues week 17 is not used).

Week 15 pits the 4 team in rouge and 4 teams in blanc. with 2 teams in each league moving on to week 16.
Week 16 then decides all four places (1st - 4th).

After week 16 matchup - The WINNER of Rouge is compared to the WINNER of Blanc. the higher pts in week 16 (the championship weekend) wins 1st overall.
the lower pts gets 2nd place.

The LOSER of rouge week 16 matchup is compared to the LOSER of the blanc week 16 matchup. higher pts gets 3rd place, lower pts gets 4th place.

that's it.. spot 15/16 as you listed is still correct. essentially even if you didn't make the playoffs, you STILL should dress your best players, and if you get lucky and have the highest total points for, in week 15+week 16, you win a bottle. it's to keep people who are out of the playoffs interested in week 15/16 :)
