8/31, 9/1 both work for me.

All my other leagues have 10 - 12 teams, I like the idea of 8.

I'd vote Aug 31st, but I think we need to get to the individual leagues before we finalize dates as coordinating across 8 ppl is going to be a lot easier than coordinating across 16 (assuming we stick with the 8 team leagues).

We prefer Sept 1 or later. The last pre-season games are on August 31. It would be great to know who got injured BEFORE the draft.

I like 9/1 since it's not a work night and will be starting 9pm my time.

Any chance we can start planning a draft date for the calendar? Thanks!

How is August 31 or Sept 1? 6pm PST / 9pm EST?

(a couple of us are gone after 9/2)

shall we finalize the roster and league by end of week?

we can then randomize / send invite / set draft orders etc..

I'm down with that. I think giving ppl over 3 weeks to respond is reasonable.

Half of us leaves town on Sept 1st so might need the Aug 31st.

Mye - Couldn't you log in from wherever you go? I ask because if we draft before the games on August 31, top players could go down. Some teams could lose their best players even before the season begins.

I know that most top players tend to sit in that final week, but many do play.

If we did 9/1 we would avoid that issue i guess?

i can draft wherever.. but i'm in France (along with another player in the league... bordeaux tasting :)), so time zone is an issue.

would people wanna do like 9/5, 9am or 10am PST? ( so it's like 6-7pm in france).

does that work better?

9/1 is best, but we could accomodate any day 9/1 or later.

Maybe we should just join you guys in France. Someone's gotta help you drink all that juice

Me, but you knew that.

Our house does have wireless, and I will have my iPad with me. 6-7 PM in France would work well I think, dinner usually 7:30 - 9:30. Can make 9/1 work as well.

Ok - so we've got 1 day left for the stragglers to confirm. Else we're calling it so we can get draft, etc. set up.

Also, if you haven't yet voted on things like # of teams in the league and the bid system please do and we'll tally those up!

If it's not too late, I'll add my name to the wait list. I played for several years a few years back (even won one!) and have been off the reservation for a little bit.

Ok - I'm calling it. Top 3 members of waitlist moving up. Last 3 ppl who haven't confirmed moving off.

We'll do a random pull and create two leagues with the requirement that mye and us are different leagues and Snoop2nutz and Blue Shorts are the same one. Will post later with results.

For those coming off the waitlist - any votes re: blind bid? # of teams?

Also - for those who have not yet declared a wine, please do!

As far as rule changes go:

Blind bids
7 yes's | 6 no's
still to vote: skifree, mqvn, ern1
** we're still fine either way, but if had to vote will side with blind bids so that person who wants player the most can get them.

Moving from 8 to 10 teams per league
1 yes | 7 no's
Abstentions: atkinson_b2, skifree, mqvn
still to vote: snoop2nutz, hankj, ern1, GalvezGuy

Changing from Yahoo
so far all seem to want to stick with Yahoo which is good since invites are out for Blanc

So please do vote away for those outstanding.

Edit - realize RockinCabs gave us his in a PM

Ok - updated

We can call the # of teams - given it's 7 to 1 and only 4 ppl outstanding I think we are sticking with 8 teams per league.

Hi all -

Yay, things are shaping up. Thanks for putting Blueshorts & I in the same League as usual! Makes for much better Fantasy Season rivalry here.

As far as my votes:

1) I vote for an 8 Team League . I have been in 10 Team Leagues and even 12 Team Leagues many times before. Having just 8 Teams in the League is what makes THIS one so special....and Unique. It is so much fun and more competitive with with just 8 Teams, and I would just hate to see that ever go away.

2) I vote NO for blind bidding waivers.

[If anyone saw my previous version, before THIS edit, then Oops! I responding to something that was not proposed. My bad. If you didn't see it, then no harm-no foul]

Looking froward to a Great Season!

Updated on number of teams. Already had you counted against the blind bid (Blue Shorts noted a vote for both of you on that topic).

I think the point on number of teams is set - even if everyone outstanding voted it wouldn't pass.

Still close on blind bids - coming down to the last 3.

8 teams is good with me. I will let group decide on blind or not. I dont have much fantasy experience with that issue.
