5/21/2021 - pifcho Likes this wine: 95 pointsThis is superb right now. A ton of electricity and complexity on the palate. Still feels very young 11 years into it, but also very open and with great depth. Wish I had another bottle. |

5/21/2021 - pifcho Likes this wine: 91 pointsNot as blown away as last time - really solid and well put together, but was a little ordinary next to the 2010 Fevre Bougros, which completely blew me away with its concentration and energy. |

3/26/2021 - pifcho Likes this wine: 90 pointsBest $10 wine I have had in a long time. Easy drinking, yet full of interest. Balance, depth and freshness that is typical of $20+ wines. Good structure here - I think this will age well, not that it needs to. Perfect weekday / party wine. |

2/17/2021 - pifcho Likes this wine: 92 pointsHoly Smokes, this is one delicious wine. At 12.5% alcohol, this is making its best Beaujolais impression. Needs 30 minutes of air to come together. Super fresh acidity and tasty blueberry pie juiciness that make it impossible to put down. What a fun summer red! Very well priced at ~$20 and a great example of what making old world style wines in Cali could be like. |

2/9/2021 - pifcho wrote: 88 pointsI enjoyed this a decent bit. Screwcap. A maroon color that suggests much older wine. Good freshness. A lot of forest floor flavor. Light to medium bodied with decent length. Not bad for around $20. |

2014 Sandhi Wines Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict VineyardSta. Rita Hills more |
11/1/2020 - pifcho Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis is top notch Cali Pinot. Elegant, precise and tasty. Perfect ringer for a blind Burgundian tasting - will stand up to many fine 1er and Grand Crus 2x-3x its price. Has the structure to get better but completely approachable today. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

7/11/2020 - pifcho Likes this wine: 91 pointsI don’t drink a lot of NZ Pinot, but maybe I should. This really hit the spot. Well balanced with a nice spicy palate and long finish. Tough to put the glass down. Compares really well to a village burgundy 2-3x the price. |

7/8/2020 - pifcho wrote: 90 pointsMy first bottle a year or so ago, was underwhelming and boring, but time has done this wine well and this bottle was a really pleasant surprise. Fruity, plush, balanced with a really attractive nose. Good to go now. Terrific for its price point. Wish I had more. |

6/9/2020 - pifcho wrote: 90 pointsWhat a joyous gulpable red. A little puzzled by the previous note. The wine is definitely fruit forward, but there is great balance here. Sneaky grippy tannins on the backend. Really tough to put the glass down and at around $15 a great value. |

4/24/2020 - pifcho wrote: 92 pointsI will echo Oaktown's note before me. This is a clear winner and one of the finest examples of the grape outside of Piedmont that I've ever had. Reminds me of an elegant Barbaresco and would be great to sneak this into a blind tasting. I wish they kept making this. The 2006 version, which I've also had was clunkier and more Cali than Nebbiolo, but they nailed it here. Too bad they stopped making this wine. |

5/3/2018 - pifcho Likes this wine: 93 pointsDelicious and drinking really well at the moment. While it has the signature concentrated fruit of the vintage, it delivers it in an elegant and balanced package. Some noticeable oak when it was first open, but that integrated well quickly. Excellent length and persistent finish. While probably better in 10 years, it is totally delicious today. |

5/3/2018 - pifcho Likes this wine: 91 pointsA herbal, umami version of pinot that I really liked - almost no fruit, but this is pure and elegant! I like it and really excellent value at this price point. (My wife didn't like it as much as I did, so you have to like the profile) |
