2011 Tabalí Sauvignon Blanc Reserva EspecialLimarí Valley more |
10/19/2012 - DrVolnay Likes this wine: 97 pointsI was strongly impressed by this wine, I was astounded, I have never encountered acidity (or perfect ripeness) quite like this. After the tasting I asked the winemaker whether this had been acidified (emphatically not, incredulous at the numbers ( a ph near 3 he sent them back for a second test!) and the moderator regretted I hadn't asked during the tasting. I have tasted over 35 years MANY white bdx. Sancerre & Pouilly, NZ CA SA and beyond and this I have to say is the most powerful, purest, strongest expression of the grape I have ever encountered. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING WINE. It convinced me, along with several others, that Chile is very much the future of wine, in terms of quality, in terms of value, in terms of terroir and diversity. RJ's assessment too conservative. Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

1/5/2022 - br_winelover Likes this wine: 94 points94(+?)pts. Beautiful wine, a reflection of its terroir in the Limari Valley. Its vineyard is situated only 12km from the coast, and it is basically limestone, which confers this Chard excellent energy and intensity. |

5/15/2020 - Head4Heights Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis announces its quality with a 2” cork (aglomerated). Pale gold colour, medium intensity on the nose. Lime, vanilla, apricot, lemon, orange, pineapple and even strawberry. Take a zip, move up some gears. High intensity, full body, stunning length and perfectly balanced pH (med) fruit and oak. Grapefruit and melon appear. Oh, its dry. Drinking really well now, but it’ll develop, so worth hanging onto a bottle if you can. |

3/12/2021 - Head4Heights Likes this wine: 94 points5cm Diem 10 enclosure. Bright gold colour. Immediately clear this has a complex Med(+) intense nose. Grapefruit, vanilla, butter, lemon, apple, orange, apricot, pineapple and even a hint of honey. On the palatte it has a full body and lovely texture but it’s still fresh. Pronounced intensity here and well balanced. Dry (obvs) with medium acidity. I want to add creamy notes and ripe banana. Very decent fruit driven finish. |

On the palate, this is full bodied, juicy, elegant, with massive fruit concentration and elegant tannins with very long aftertaste. This is very new world in style, but in spite of all ripeness and concentration, it managed to be elegant and very balanced. This is really good and very well done. One of the best Chileans I've had so far! |

11/7/2020 - mwneil Likes this wine: 93 pointsAlmost colorless, grassy bouquet, very tart but opens up as it warms up, good fruit, no taste of wood, purity and focused flavor, a great match with whole wheat pasta with clam sauce with kale, What a Sancerre used to taste like before New Zealand took over, will drink again. |

11/1/2022 - Wine Diplomats Likes this wine: 93 pointsLimestone soil along the coast. Fermented at low temperature in stainless steel. Citrus and floral nose. Elegant on the palate. Less creamy than the Casa Marin. While the Laberinto is all about acidity and minerality at high intensity and the Casa Marin is varietally correct but fuller, this one is more about floral, fruity notes with a bit of minerality and lots of elegance. It has a 2.88 PH, but it’s still not enamel ripping acid like the Laberinto. Light and easy with pretty floral and lemony notes. Same intensity as the Casa Marin, but lighter and a lot less of the green notes. Less obviously Sauvignon Blanc but just an excellent white. 93+ |

4/8/2023 - BenBlu Likes this wine: 93 pointsI tried this first in Chile a few months back asking the somm at an excellent Peruvian/Japanese restaurant to bring me the lowest alcohol Pinot. I was immediately enamoured and felt it showed like a Mugnier Chambolle. Often you have a bottle while away and it tastes good. Then you get back home and it’s not that great anymore. I ordered a few back home and put them blind against various good red Burgs and it held its own (more than once). It shows well out of Zalto Burgs, it takes well to air. It’s low alcohol at 12.5 pct, slight reduction on the nose, quite brambly and introvert at first, serene in a way, Chambollle-esque, salty and just draws you in. It’s not a “saltimbocca” fruit display, it’s more like an iceberg where you see a little and feel a lot lies beneath. Amazingly the vines were planted 2012 only, so they were merely 6 years old to make this very first vintage here. Viticulture information can be found on back label which is super useful. I would think that exciting times lie ahead as these vines mature. Possible to me known as the “Amoureuses” of Chile in 15 years? I have been drinking this one with abundance and never regretted a sip. |

10/1/2008 - andrewstevenson.com wrote: 92 pointsThis apparently comes from quite young vines: only 7/8 years old. There’s lovely fresh strawberry and cherry fruit on the nose with a bit of green peppercorns. Young palate, but really nice and lovely. This is a beautifully made, fresh, young pinot noir with soft fruit and a real, rich depth. |
