Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe dark fruit aromas of cherries, blueberries & cassis with some earthy/dusty notes, tar, leather, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium-deep bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe dark fruit flavors of cherries, blueberries & plums with spices, herbs & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but should develop further with additional aging. An indicative blend of Garnacha, Carignan, Merlot and Syrah. Very good QPR when found at discount. |

Guessing a lot of new French oak influnece here. The palate adds ripe dark plums and coffe grounds and overall tastes more primary. Almost tart. Call it the "revenge of the red fruits". Intensity of both flavors and aromas are medium +. I enjoy drinking this because of how different the nose and palate are. It drinks like it tells a story, if that makes any sense. |
