At this point, it’s a pizza wine, but at least the tannins aren't overwhelming. Very dark, no fruit, a little bitter with no complexity but should stand up to pepperoni.

In 2014 I wrote that it took some days to find the inner core of this wine; now in 2024 The wine was, of course, more open, but grew for three days: concentrated, structured, elegant and balanced from the fresh fruit in the nose and the taste to the aftertaste with ripe tannins and gentle bitters and inbetween a smooth and fresh impression with a very good citrus backbone, vivid and inviting. This wine still needs aeration.

Someone observed if you don't like a Bordeaux, just keep it cellared and it will come around eventually. Some bottles of this some years ago were all tannic and pretty much undrinkable. This still is amply tannic, but it's not longer overwhelming. Some minerality, not a lot of fruit, some savory notes. It's probably worth seeing what a couple/few more years will do with the remaining bottles.

A 'Lost Cellar' wine found deep in a corner of my cellar this wine opened in good shape with a still deep colour and a mature nose of dark plums, blackberry and dark raspberries with touches of charcoal and liquorice. The palate is nicely rounded and while the finish is a little attenuated it remains a very pleasant bottle of Merlot.

Gave a 90 minute decant and the astringency made it apparent that it needed more air. Another 90 minutes and was rewarded with a juicy right banker full of plum and cherry. Another 2018 Bordeaux in a good window. Had an equally good 2018 left banker yesterday but believe this will be real good in another year or three. Great QPR. 4.1 stars

This is not our preferred style -- it's a soft wine, relatively unstructured, with ripe flavors of plum and chocolate and 15% alcohol -- but it is good for what it is, and it is definitely good for $18. It's certainly a wine that would make a lot of people happy, and it's a bottle that we finished without much difficulty, particularly because it became more interesting, less flabby with some air.

Fruit forward when uncorked. Decant. 30-60 minutes the fruit blows off to subtle pencil lead on the finish. 3 hours in finish gone to a touch of bitter Evan thou we left the sentiment in the bottle.

Lush, ripe, round and polished, the wine delivers ample, sweet, juicy, plums, accented by chocolate, licorice, smoke and espresso. You can drink this with pleasure on release, or age it for a few years for less fruit and more earthy characteristics. Drink from 2023-2035.

Really incredible, previous tasted in 2020 and than I found this wine also mind boggling. Everything in this wine is in the right place; a deep and youthful colour, a deep, soft fruity bouquet with a modest support of vanilla and wood, followed by a full throtttle creamy taste that goes on and on with still a youthful impression. The perfectly ripe bitters and tannins bear the lovely and persistent aftertaste....and that all for under € 10! (tasted during three days!).

Random bottles of this keep turning up in my cellar as a bonus ! As previously this is a fine bottle from the St Emilion satellites with lots of character and a nice defining minerality to match the quite rich Merlot fruit. There are no signs of decline with the structure providing the longevity to continue for some time on this quite delicious plateau.

Our second bottle drank better than the first. This had lots of dark cherries and plums/prunes, chocolate, smoke, with a hint of that marsh/clay funk that I dig in Bordeaux. Could be even better in 5+ years. A great QPR from the region. Rating: 90+

A Lost Cellar wine. This bottle opened in fine shape with a persistent deep crimson colour and a forthcoming nose of dark cherry and raspberry, garnet plums and touches of charcoal and liquorice. The palate has a spherical entry of fresh pure fruits leading into a soft fine tannic structure that provides medium length. This is a pure and quite fine example of the outlying right bank wineries with pure characters avoiding all attempts to crank up the volume !
