4/26/2024 - Wine Diplomats Likes this wine: 92 pointsAverage 50 year old vines from multiple vineyards with two types of soil: limestone and rocky marl. Native yeast fermentation and aging in 500 liter barrels with only 10% new. 15 months on lees without battonage. Lightly filtered before bottling. Shy nose at first, Nose with mineral, oak spice and touch of floral. Quite pretty palate. Good acid. Honey. Apple. Medium body. Some oak spice. Lots of savory minerality. More fruit with time. It becomes more expansive as it was tight and concentrated at first. |

4/23/2024 - mzimberg Likes this wine: 92 pointsStill quite youthfully lavender ruby. Just right volnay aromas smoked meat and silky spider web. Red fruit on entry. Cranberry and wild strawberry. Cloves. Moss and damp earth. Crunchy and fresh. |

4/21/2024 - The Drunken Cyclist Likes this wine: 93 pointsRetail $75. Responsible Bottle (564g; 1lb 3.9oz). 100% Chardonnay. There was a time when a 1er Cru Saint-Aubin could be had for under thirty bucks. And it was not all that long ago; Saint-Aubin was the remedy for the absurd prices being fetched for Chassagne, Puligny, and Meursault. Not any more. Saint-Aubin has also skyrocketed in recent years but I was able to pick this up at a wine store in Beaune in 2017 for about thirty-five bucks. Yellow, almost golden in the glass but with no signs of oxidation, the fruit on the nose is close to glorious (a lovely lemon curd) with additional notes of hazelnut, vanilla, and oak. The palate *is* glorious with fantastic fruit, an intense tartness, and a lengthy finish. Fantastic. 93 Points. |

4/21/2024 - cliftonng wrote: 94 pointsAn elegant, opulent and powerful nose with sauvage notes and spices. There is lively acidity on the medium+ weight palate that is balanced and rich, where there is still a good amount of fruit and chewy tannins on the finish. Enjoyable to drink now, and there may still be further improvement. |

4/1/2024 - SH Wu Likes this wine: 92 pointsBright, vibrant citrus acidity backed by fresh minerality. Concentrated orchard fruit sweetness unveils itself with more air on the palate, with white floral elegance starting to build in the glass. Certainly has a depth of impact on the texture, but is a bit fleeting on the finish. |

4/9/2024 - jmoore431 Likes this wine: 93 pointsTypically wonderful stuff from Girardin; fresh, greenish straw color; vibrant classic nose of green apple, lemon lime and crushed stone; relaxed palate, luxuriant viscosity yet ample acidity to keep things popping. The great vintage shows through here. |

4/7/2024 - jfpwine Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis bottle felt slightly more advanced than the others I enjoyed over the past few years. Light gold color. Initially the nose displayed ripe aromas of lemon and slight stone fruit. Very mineral on the palate, with chalk and wet rocks. Long finish. I think my timing was great with this one. Drink. |

4/6/2024 - acyso wrote: 88 pointsBirthday party (Chicago, IL): For the appellation, definitely kinda mid. Doesn't have the weight nor complexity that Chevalier ought to have. The midpalate hollows out a little bit. Tastes like decent chardonnay, but at the price you're paying and for where this comes from, it should be more. |

4/4/2024 - MarcPal wrote: 87 pointsDisappointing wine, especially at the price point. Very hot, even though its 13.5% abv, the alcohol is very apparent on the nose, and is accompanied by astringency on the palate. Let it breathe for an hour and came back to it, and seemingly no evolution. |

3/31/2024 - Vinnut Likes this wine: 90 pointsLight golden yellow in color. Full, forward & attractive nose of ripe citrus fruit aromas of lemons/limes, pears & peaches with overtones of mineral & floral notes, stony, chalky, some herbal notes & smoky oak/vanilla. Medium-light bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, ripe fruit flavors of lemons/limes, apples & pears with chalky, minerals & toasty oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present at 6 years of age although it should develop slightly further with a few more years of additional aging. |
