2/28/2024 - Mwc33 wrote: 87 pointsPale yellow, with aromas of honeysuckle, yellow apple, white peach, and some beeswax, along with lychee and something mineral. Relatively light bodied, high acidity, and surprisingly unstructured, though that classic Rhone white viscosity or waxiness runs is noticeable. Disappointingly short finish. |

2/12/2024 - Eudemis Likes this wine: NR14% alcohol. Pretty good cork (well, the sizeable defect was on the upper side of the cork, luckily). Decanted an hour ahead. Dark colour with no sign of ageing. |

11/2/2023 - jfalconeiii wrote: 88 pointsVery good on the nose. Too good. As a 2018 which I’m drinking in late 2023, perhaps I must let this open up significantly? But the nose is a bit of a liar; on the palate it’s just not quite there. It’s a bit “green” at first sip. I don’t really taste what I thought I would and it moves from flat to very unbalanced as it finishes. I can’t pick out whether this is tannic, bitter, sour or all three in an odd proportion (with a rather noticeable bitter finish as it hangs around in my mouth). I also can’t really make out in the taste what I had smelled on the nose. I had thought this was sort of in the middle of its drinking window but maybe not. I’ve had much better French reds at this price point. I’d also note that a straight 14% abv is a bit on the high side for French wines. Not terrible but not one I’d race to buy again. |

9/1/2023 - jkscully Likes this wine: NRThis is really good, especially for the price. Lots of raspberry, strawberry, cherry, blackberry, and plum fruit, but with enough acidity to make it lithe and good with food. I get chocolate, leather, smoke, and spicy garrigue on the finish along with stemmy tannins, like a whole cluster sort of taste. You can taste the soil here too. It tastes like a Syrah, but is still very bright. I love that. Great match with BBQ chicken. Has plenty of life left, but drank well now after about an hour of air. I should buy more of these bottles. |

8/3/2023 - JensAgo Does not like this wine: 80 pointsSub-par performance from the producer surely, neither in balance, nor closed - simply a poor drinking experience, the wine clearly unfit for serving. Dark & dense mulberry/plum in appearance. Nose f pour restrained & flat, opening up to bitter-roasted black olives, a tad of earth & quite frankly not much more until a bit of dark fruit jam appears an hour past pop. Palate kicks-off equally restrained & flat, w gentle aeration a bit of OK juice leading to a somewhat grainy, extremely bitter-roasted, unbalanced close. |

6/17/2023 - Ennels Likes this wine: 89 pointsDark fruit, oak, meat, pepper and black olives. Classic northern Rhône on the nose. Fairly decent tannins, but just the right amount of acid and properly adjusted oak but the fruit feels a little too thin and not particularly concentrated. Lasts at least 3-4 more years in the cellar. |

5/5/2023 - glou.sf Likes this wine: 94 pointsSavory and smoky nose with meat flavors, olives, red fruit, and cherry notes. Lots of acidity on the palate with a good amount of tannins, more red fruit, tart berries, and red cherries. Long finish. Delicious and interesting wine with nice depth. Would love to see where this goes in 10+ years. 94++ |

5/6/2023 - Bonesetter Likes this wine: 88 pointsDark garnet colour. Spice, wet slate, prunes on the nose. On the palate, dark fruit, blackberry and pepper. All in all, an okay Syrah, but I can't see it winning any converts to the genre. |

12/9/2022 - glou.sf Likes this wine: 94 pointsHad to open one for science… Violets, floral, black cherries, olive tapenade, savory, and gamey notes on the nose. Good balance with pretty high acidity, more dark/black fruit flavors, saline notes, violets, and a bit of smoke on the palate. Good finish. Very young but really quite delicious and promising. I would tuck these away for 10 years… 93-94+ |

11/28/2022 - arpaddagreat wrote: 84 pointsDidn't get to try this when it was young but I think this bottle might have been on the decline. Nose is great, wild, feral, sour cherry soup, and some cave funk. On the palate it's tart, lacking freshness and a bit chalky, presenting as cool climate Syrah. In some ways it reminds me of a tart sour cherry loire valley red but the finish is acidic and vinegary. Oh well. |

9/30/2022 - Majmaj wrote: 90 pointsBeautiful blend of Marsanne-Roussanne grapes. On the nose, there is a abundance of pineapple and pear. It takes some time for the pineapple to give way to other characters such as honeysuckle, lemon and earthy notes. Medium bodied and very subtle touch of oak. |

8/8/2022 - lake.vino Likes this wine: 93 pointsThis is really good wine - far better than I remembered from tasting this young, when I liked it, but did not see the complexity or depth. Nose positively dripping with bacon fat. Plum and blackberry, a tad brambly. In a blind, I'd have thought a mid-level Hermitage, not a Crozes. Hazelnut. Black pepper. Lavendar. Palate beautifully balanced, if rich. Plenty of acid, intense rocky minerality and some soil notes. Fruit there and strong - but balanced with secondary development. Very long, complex finish. |
