Medium body. Medium plus acidity. Well noticeable tanines. Not very smooth. Lovely aromatic, barrels, terroir, spices, red fruits, spices👏 Same mixture on the palate, in a quite intensive way: oak, coconut, baking chocolate, leather, earthy, cinnamon, ginger, anise, pepper, licorice, cherry, raspberries, strawberries, cranberries 👏 Not sure this wine suits me but 🍷👏🍷 Do you find this review helpful? In der Nase Aromen von roten Früchten, Johannisbeeren, Blaubeeren und Brombeeren, angereichert mit angenehm würzigen Noten von Nelken und Vanille. Am Gaumen Cassisfrucht mit Brombeerwürze und schwarzer Kirsche. Stoffig, reichhaltig, mundfüllend und mit feiner Lakritzsüße im Kern. Dunkle Pflaume, frische Feige und Bitterschokolade runden das Ganze ab. Die Frucht ist üppig, aber trotzdem elegant. Die Balance ist da, die Frische und die Textur stehen der Reichhaltigkeit bis ins feinsalzige Finish entgegen und halten den Saffredi im Gleichgewicht. This is a drink now wine at this age. Paired with a cheese and meat board with soft and milder hard cheeses. Light citrus notes with some grassy and almost almond notes on the palate. Fermented and macerated for 10-15 days in stainless steel, aged for 6 months in stainless steel. 14% alcohol. Translucent, youthful ruby-red color. The nose feels youthful and quite primary with linear aromas of cherry candies and raspberry jellies, some blackberry jam and a hint of red licorice. The wine feels ripe, youthful and juicy on the palate with a medium-to-moderately full body and quite linear flavors of raspberry jam and cherry marmalade, some candied primary fruit flavors, a little bit of sweet boysenberry, light red licorice tones and a hint of brambly blackberry. The structure relies more on the moderately high acidity than on the light, supple tannins. The finish is sweet-toned, subtly grippy and somewhat warm with a bit short aftertaste of cherry marmalade, some blackberry jam, a little bit of red licorice, light primary notes of raspberry jelly and a hint of savory spice. A simple, somewhat soft and way too primary Morellino. Calls for more age, more structure and more character. Although not a bad wine, the candied primary fruit flavors made me feel pretty disappointed about this wine. It wasn't particularly expensive (13€ for a half bottle in a restaurant), but I still feel it was a bit pricey for its quality. Bought 1 750 and 1 MAG and immediately called to order 2 more MAGs after opening the first 750. Bright, bright crystal clear red cherry fruit. Lighter bodied, and not really complex, but easy to drink and quite simply delicious. Not sure how it will age but I am excited to try another bottle. Mature, balanced, lovely nose and palate, it just falls short on the finish, which is well …short (non-existent?). Rating the 3 respectively, it would be 92, 92, 87. A very relaxed style wine that’s easy to enjoy, but not sticking around for breakfast. Drink now and enjoy! Popped the cork and let rest about 1 hr before drinking. Served with an Italian roast pork ragu and polenta. My wife preferred it at a slightly cooler temp. This bottle is part of a recent library release I picked up to see how more recent vintages might age. However, some research showed the 2010 is sangio with a decent amount of merlot. Sometime in the early twenty-teens, they switched to the more ‘pure’ style sangio bottling and dropped the Riserva. Maybe coinciding with the 2013 arrival of a certain prominent wine-maker/advisor. Beautiful ripe fruit, very pure Sangiovese with textbook notes of cherry, tomato, thyme and some leather. A lighter, elegant style of Sangio. For me this was best as pnp, after an hour in glass some dryish woody tannins rather present but those were not showing day two. Shows great promise but also not a crime to enjoy now. Wow. Nice acidity to balance the tannins, some medicinal notes, belle pepper, tons of black cherries, tomato vine, coffee beans; ending our long with aromatic wood. Wow such a wine! Great spot now, secondary notes are definitely emerging but it’s still young and vibrant. Drink now or hold - no rush here.
