3/10/2024 - Art_Vandelay1 Likes this wine: 92 pointsLight-colored and medium-bodied. Very pleasant nose of red fruit, graphite, clay, and spice. Hits the palate with strawberry and cherry notes and has a refreshing, crisp acidity. Medium finish. If I had to compare, would liken to a good Russian River Valley Pinot. Did not decant and drank directly from bottle. Thoroughly enjoyable and would like to try another with a few more years of age. |

2/14/2024 - wabi47 wrote: 93 pointscomplex nose; light body/mouth texture, albeit evolving in the glass with unique sensations--sweet floral and grapefruit at the same time, plenty of je ne sais quoi; acidity and black tea keeps this bright; cherry is the main fruit, but this is not about the fruit; unique and likely found only on mount etna |

10/22/2023 - eyewino Likes this wine: 93 pointsMedium ruby fading to pink with a thin watery rim. Big nose of strawberry, tar, sweet tobacco, roses, and cedar. There is a touch of high note - is it eucalyptus? Medium bodied on the palate with good acidity, medium tannins, and a long aftertaste of minerals, plumb, and a citrus varnish sensation I get mostly through my nose when I exhale. Ok, weird, I know. |

9/6/2023 - Joshvoulters Likes this wine: 87 pointsImmediately disliked this as the nose screams cough sweet- intense medicinal blackcurrant pastille- but with air sweet red and blue fruit, peonies and salty minerality sit beneath and carry through to the palate. Smooth, low in tannins, and just a touch chewy on the finish. Opened up after a couple of days in the fridge door with some spicy aromatic oak notes adding complexity and, while I’d usually prefer Nerello Mascalese slightly chilled, this was fuller and more expansive at room temperature without losing balance. Grew on me. |

7/29/2023 - Thomas Fairfax wrote: NRI found the wine wonderfully aromatic, with real aromatic thrill and lift and verve etc etc. It gets better on the palate - fleshy fruits (a ripe apricot or peach, perhaps), wet stone minerality and a herbal, tonic quality. Really nice and unusual and delicious. And what a smart label! |

7/28/2023 - Tim Heaton Likes this wine: NRGood, but shy of vg. PnP, served non-blind. Agglomerated cork, medium(-) body that adds a touch of weight as it aerates/successive glasses. There's a roundness to the tart strawberry. high-ish acidity; .Pinot-like, with an avg finish, and complexity. Perhaps still developing, though this is my last one. Thru 2029 recommended. |

5/14/2023 - slye Likes this wine: 88 pointsThis has a very pleasant, medium-bodied profile. Smooth, berry and sour cherry flavors with tea-like notes on the nose and palate. Despite its character leaning a little to the mature side, fine tannins keep it lively. I wouldn’t wait much longer to drink this. |

3/12/2023 - Eantnay Likes this wine: 94 pointsWow! Complex nose of fruit, flowers & herbs, with some earthiness & hint of smoke leaping out of the glass. Deep red color, dark cherry flavors with sweet tannin. An Etna Rosso on the fuller bodied end of the spectrum. Paired with Spanish chorizo, shrimp & tomato squid ink pasta. The wine played perfectly with the heat & smoked paprika in the chorizo. |

1/27/2023 - David MyVintage Likes this wine: 92 pointsVanilla flowers start, with red currant and raspberries. Second nose of nutmeg and cinnamon, balsamic herbs, and dark fruits and Maracuja blossom. Clean quick finish on palate, with little tannic persistence. Balsamic almost bitter aftertaste (volcanic?) of a red-fruit-forward, fading note. |

Rocky, savoury and meaty, wet stone fruit in the background shows a little black cherry and blackcurrant, the tannins are quite stony and drying as well with a touch of oak on the finish. Hmm. |

12/13/2022 - eyewino Likes this wine: 93 pointsLight ruby fading to orange with a clear watery rim. Raspberry, leather, basalmic, and oolong tea on the nose. The plate has medium body, grippy tannins, medium acidity, cherry and strong mineral streak leading to a medium-long finish. |

11/16/2022 - Xavier Auerbach wrote: 87 pointsIt's really weird. I drank this wine at a restaurant in Amsterdam in September and I liked it so much that I bought a half case on the spot - literally - from the merchant who had supplied the wine to the restaurant. I have now had three bottles from this lot, and in all three the oak really sticks out unpleasantly in a sweet and resinous way. I would never dream of calling this "Chambolle from the Etna", like I did in September. What could be wrong? The huge difference is really disconcerting. If we can't trust two cases of the same wine from the same producer and sold by the same importer to be consistent, what are we to do? |

11/9/2022 - Islamabadbadbad wrote: 84 pointsAppearance is a light ruby, long legs. Nose is a little disappointing, blackberry, cranberry, heavy alcohol, woody. Palate is medium plus acid, medium tannins, medium plus alcohol that could be better integrated. Taste of pomegranate , cranberry, dried meat, olives, cedar, leather , smoky finish. Decanted about 45 minutes without much change of flavor profile, tannins still strong. I will let the other half bottle decant a couple hours and see what happens. Maybe time in the cellar would do it some good, but the flavors don’t seem concentrated enough and the balance does not seem like it would benefit much. Overall drinkable, but will not buy again. |
