2/19/2024 - Psdycp wrote: 91 pointsThe nose needs an hour to fully open up its aromatics. There are ripe raspberries and cherries, earthy clove and star anise, sweet licorice and cinnamon sticks. Savoury, spicy and fruity. A dense wine but this is not forward or in your face. There is a good degree of restrain and depth which need to be uncovered as you swirl the wine in the glass and on your palate. Rich entry, extended mid-palate and a slightly bitter finish with a touch of tannins structure for aging. May need a touch more fresh acidity in this full-bodied wine to make it more exciting in the finish. Need more time for the tannins to soften and structure to lose some fat so that it is better balance. Let this age for another 2-3 years. 91-92 pts. |

6/19/2023 - graemeg wrote: NR{cork, 14.9%} Nearly two years on from the last taste, and this has mellowed nicely. Blackberry and chocolate on the nose and palate. Still very soft on the palate, with fruit dominating fine powdery tannins and near non-existent acidity. Still rich and ripe, and mostly managing to contain the heat from the alcohol. Medium/full weight. Even if patchy palate, without strong personality - you’re not leaning to either cabernet or shiraz really. Medium length, slightly warm palate, at peak I reckon. |

5/5/2023 - OldHick95 Likes this wine: 91 pointsSurprised to find a 2013 on the shelves. This is very fruit centric (blackberry, black raspberry) with a hint of leather and fine-grained tannins. Very long finish of fresh black fruit flavors with crisp acidity. |

4/15/2023 - Brent25 Likes this wine: 91 pointsClear deep ruby/garnet; clean medium plus nose of balsamic, leather, cassis and vanilla; dry; high acidity; medium tannins; high alcohol; medium body; medium plus flavour intensity; palate is tarter with addition of black licorice and tar; long finish; drink now or in a few years; drinking much better than our first bottle; nice development! |

Palate is medium/dry, still rich but with a varietal hint of grassiness under the honey and marzipan flavours. No botrytis. Nicely balanced around ‘medium’ for structural elements, but definitely a drink now proposition for best effect. |
