Palate starts with tannic berry lush fruit. Evolves within an elegant, mid palette with bittersweet chocolate, lavender, iron, my iodine overtones. The finish goes on forever for about 35 seconds. The asset and tenants are well integrated. An elegant and well-made wine. Decanted for two hours before we had a dinner with family with a barbecued large, tomahawk steak, asparagus, potatoes, and broccoli. |

In my Zalto Bordeaux glass this was pretty hot and the alcohol really dominated the nose. Didnt have this issue from the smaller Gabriel Glas or an estate series red wine glass from Williams Sonoma, though. Still - hoping that will balance out over time. |

Unlike the bottle I had a few months back this bottle did absolutely nothing for me. Dark fruit, sandalwood, some dark cherry, plums but nothing stood out. Definitely can not see the 96 that Vinous gave it. Maybe just an off bottle. |
