This Domaine des Amoureux Muscadet Sèvre et Maine Sur Lie will never win prizes except from me, fulfilling the very reason why I drink wine, the pleasure, the enjoyment of fermented grapes. A dangerous wine, tempting me to keep on sipping. Until I sampled Oakridge's Pinot Meunier, I never had the pleasure of drinking Pinot Meunier as a stand-alone varietal wine, which echoes a high quality Pinot Noir or Cinsault. Just lovely. I'm grateful that Oakridge made a stand-alone Pinot Meunier bottling, not a varietal that people know much about or are clamoring for, but solid and eminently satisfying. |
