Nicely structured, taut wine. Some stewed blackcurrant. Better than the 05. Will the fruit outlast the scaffolding?

Leave next bottle in 2025.

I quite like this. In general I love Langoa, but wonder whether this is on the downward slope? Not according to others; but I find this is more satin/dusty structure than fruity. Almost collapsed. But more-ish nevertheless. Am going to try the 06 tonight.

At the inaugural wine night.

Lemony and delicate. Most enjoyable, but would hv had before rather than after the LaSalle 2000!

The following day …. This has really filled out. I wld keep this quite a while.

Wine of the night at the inaugural Wine Night Dinner?

First drink of the evening. Delicious, fulsome, resolved. Still further improvement to come. Knocked the socks off the Comtes Taittinger 2006.

Two hour decant thru rabbit. Amazing minty, liquorice nose and taste. Still very “memorable” the next day. First time I’ve had top Zinfandel, so not sure about its future trajectory - but delicious now.

Tried at the inaugural Wine Night Dinner. This had much competition but was probably the wine of the night.

A lovely aftertaste…. And increasingly moorish as the night continues. But a touch young.
Will be better with food.
Try again in 2025

Picked up a case in the F sale, so nice to return to this excellent value wine.

1 hour rabbit decant sufficient.

Fully mature. Forest fruits and mulberry. I like the latter, but only just. Soft, resolved and very popular with guests.

Drink.

The briefest of decants.
Lovely and resolved. A real treat. Very moreish. Fruit is fading, so drink up.

This is really very good.
All you could hope for from a Pomerol.
Drank 2 bottles at La Trompette after a 3 hour decant with F, X & The MIL.
Totally resolved and delicious. Sophisticated.
Very slight bottle variation, with one having a very, very slight wiff of mould (but not corked).

PnPd. There is a an overly saccharin sweetness which dominates. Somewhat cloying. Will this dissipate with age? I don’t know. More tannin/leather/acid needed to bring balance.

PnP. Very muted bouquet - next to nothing (yet the only review I cld find spoke of an “intense nose”).

Luscious to taste - the right side of oily. Mellow, tropical fruits to the taste, but fairly subtle. Cld this be in a closed phase - is that even a thing with white wines?

That said half an hour in & this is evolving. Multi layered, complex, sophisticated. Quite something.

Where I do agree with the above review is a rather charming & unusual lick of salty, fresh lime as an after taste (margarita glass rim?!).

Perhaps a little disappointed? Let’s see on night two. Current view is to leave the rest of the case until, say, 2026.

Absolutely wonderful.
2.5 hour decant thru Rabbit.
Nose very restrained, but super forest fruit flavours. Delicious now, but further improvement to come. This was a second bottle, the first being corked.

What a super wine!

Decanted thru Rabbit. Upon tasting, almost a bit too "exotic" for me. Perhaps too much mulberry?

Some hours on, it really came together. Warm, rich, fruity, delicious. Even nicer the next night having been under VacUVin.

In summary - splash decant c. 5 hours (or more) before consuming. At which point you hv a real treat.
