Even tough it’s not that expensive there are far better options at its price point. If you ended up having some bottles in your cellar my suggestion is to serve it with barbecue in a very informal gathering (or to people you don’t really like). |

While not a traditional winemaker compared to other countries, Brazilian producers have not been dragged Down by established practices or DOC rules and have been innovating to produce some gems. This is one of those. A blend of vintages (2019 and 2020), aging methods (steel, oak and cement), and grapes (there are 6 of them) they came out with something rather surprising. At 13,5% álcool it feels fruity, but not candy like new world counterparts. There’s earth, some Bret and very light wood. Quite a satisfactory combination specially considering it’s price point. I am looking forward to taste how it ages as I have bought a few bottles to store. |

Chacra has always surprised me as the most refined Pinot Noirs of South America. A far cry from the excesses of new world Pinots. This is their second wine and I think it’a the sweet spot that balances cost x quality. |

At around BRL 190 / USS 28 it delivers outstanding quality for the price. Let me be Frank, I usually hate Tannat from uruguay. It's usual high Tannins content and super high acidity makes for a very unpleasant experience for my taste buds. With that very skeptical mindset that I decide to try this Brazilian style tannat from the historial 2020 vintage. What a great surprise, While it still had a lot of body at 16% and grippy tannins they whore much finer and elegant providing a much more smoother, pleasant and balanced experience than any other Tannat I had ever had, to the point I decided to add a few bottles to my cellar. It should go great with barbecue or feijoada. |
