Lychee, rose, and peach, yeah I expect that. But what I didn’t expect? The notes of pastry, spicy cologne with sandalwood and leather dimensions, and Nag Champa incense (sophomore year dorm room all up in here), all finishing up with a refreshing honeydew finish. Just a beautiful expression. |

On the palate there’s good followthrough on the fruit notes, plus a slight bitterness almost like nectarine peel, as well as a light flintiness and good acidity. Quite refreshing. |

It's fresh and lean, with a touch of petrol on the nose, and apple, pear, and flinty minerality on the palette. Made a very good pairing with the meal and seemed at a good point in it's drinking window. Bought for drinking, not aging and it delivered at a good price point. |

9/6/2021 - vinus_operandi Likes this wine: 93 pointsopens with a slight whiff of petrol, white flowers and lime rind. solid acidity on the palate that is complemented by apricot, peach, some lemon curd and a well defined streak of minerality. superbly balanced in every way with a long unctious finish. wine evolved nicely over several hours with stone fruit dancing on the tongue towards the latter part of the evening. nose took on more of a jasmine scent at the night wore on. my first of several bottles. clearly this can age for many more years. probably the best alsace that I have had so far out of 3 different grand cru vineyards. paired well with local black sea bass accompanied by a lemon burre blanc sauce. |
