What a treat!

Great wine AND champagne, surprising with its ton of aromatics, yeast, french bakery scents playing with a vivid minerality.

Racy acidity, very fine bubbles, long.

Drank in Riedel Veritas Champagne stem that has the right volume to let it develop.

Last bottle

Opened in advance but no decanting, just used a Riedel PN stem to let it aerate well.

In great condition and in full "drink now" moment in my opinion.

MAture black cherries and raspberries, sage and rosemary, balsamic notes emerging just at the end together with wet leather.

Great mouthfeel, smooth, lively acidity, fully integrated tannins.

Long finish.

Confirming my last note about this wine.

Ina perfect drinking window. Acidity+, a touch of funky nose that is typical in Il Poggione.

Opened 2 hours in advanced, pour half a glass to check and open the neck. No decanting by choice.

A hint of volatile just opened that soon faded away.

When served it showed mature dark red fruit, secondary notes of black cherry and raspberry , and mediterranean herbs. a touch of liqorice wood.

In the mouth it showed weel: round and velvet touch but with still good acidity to keep it going. Fully integrated tannins. Medium long finish.

Another strong performance of this 2011. In my opinion it is fully in a drin now and it was my last bottle of the vintage.

Served in Zalto Burgundy stems

What a pleasure to open this 2009 in such a perfect evolutive spot.

Opened 3 hours in advance, just poring a little wine to open the neck of the bottle. No decanting. Served in Zalto Burgundy stem to let the wine express itself.

A nose opening with secondary scents of mature red and black berries, sage, and rosemary, a touch of china an liqorice. Slight balsamic in the end.
during the evening it showed the more tertiary notes, getting a bit more earthy.
Complex and with many layers rising one after the other.

Velvet mouthfeel assisted by a nice a acidity. Very elegante tannins which were well integrated.

A great showing for this 2009

This Marie Amelie 2014 in a 0g/l intepretation really needed some extra time in the bottle.

This bottle shined compare with the one I had one year ago which was good but in some way weired.

Multilayered, complex and showing the purity of chardonnay of the Monatgne de Reims.

Gave its best when it reached 10C° and after half an hour from ther opening.

Complex, clearly declaring its DT nature.

Give time in the stems and let the temp rise a bit. Around 10C° it gives its best

Stems Riedel performance Champagne. Maybe next time I will use the Riedel Vinum Champagne.

Really pleasant. Glad I kept this last bottle untill now.

No decanting. Riedel PN stems.

Ni oxidation, soft, tannins completely integrated but still nice acidity

Fantastic right now. The tertiary notes have kicked in with loqorice, dried herbs, soy, olive leafs.

I have one bottle left and will drink it soon.

This wine is a true stunner and I love it at this point of maturity.

Opened 2 hours in advance, opened the neck of the bottle. No decanting.

Drank in Zalto Burgundy stems.

Unmistakebly Sangiovese, with a complex nose of mature black cherry, blackberries and plums giving space to liqorice, warm wet leather, sage, tyme and rosemary.

Medium body, velvet glove on an iron fist, acidity well present, integrated and fine tannins, long finish.

Alas my last bottle but a great pleasure to drink it today

Well made and never boring the Castillon Cotes de bordeaux.

Bottle acquired at release and carefully cellared.

Opened 2 hours in advance and opened the neck by pouring the usual small tasting amount.

Reading other notes I was afraid it was slowly evolving but I found it in a very good spot.

Secondary evolved fruity notes just giving some hints of tertiary. A touch of liqorice and mediteranean herbs,

Acidity medium +
Round but good agility in the mouth
Well integrated tannins

Medium long finish

Drink now but for sure rewarding for a few more years if well cellared

A very solid Champagne confirming the good impressions i already had last year.

Structure, acidity, depth, complexity are present and the extra year in bottle gave extra nuances.

I didn't expect it to be still so lively.

Acidity, mineral notes, length.... everything i there. Lost the overwhelming original fruit but a great pleasure to drink it now. Alas my last bottle.
