4/28/2024 - wirelesswine wrote: 87 pointsThis is very different than the 10 year tawnies I've had from the bigger houses. Upon first opening, the wine was a bit harsh, had a tart acidity, felt light in body, and had a short finish. However, with a bit of air, the wine eventually mellowed and tasted more typical. It's still on the drier side overall. |

4/28/2024 - roelof.ligtmans@gmail.com Likes this wine: 91 pointsMagnificent Port, still young and fruity, yet fresh, soft tannins, well-balanced sweetness. A great port now, capable of ageing if you have more bottles, this was my first, last and only. |

4/28/2024 - CarlSchmidt Likes this wine: 94 points#1 of 11 half bottles I won at auction. Let stand upright 3 days after delivery then tasted without decant. The cork came out in 2 pieces otherwise ok. There remains lot of bright fruit, so I think this could age yet 2-3 decades? There is alcohol on the back palate - not unpleasant but that hint a great port can give. Long finish with subtle classic raisin note. I like it, and 10 more to try over time. |

4/28/2024 - elevwine Likes this wine: 91 pointsYes WOW. Ready now and really just a fantastic value. Lacks a bit of the character and complexity of its bigger (and much more expensive) cousins but that is to be expected at this price. Compulsively drinkable. |

4/26/2024 - PacoHigon Likes this wine: NREnsamblaje de Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Barroca,... |

4/23/2024 - BigJuliusD wrote: 74 pointsNot too much going on here. Passable and drinkable tawny port; a slight excess of VA (nail polish), though with a pleasant enough orange note. Medium finish. There's better ports around this age out there, and you won't have to fork over that much more cash for them, too. |

4/21/2024 - DH90 Likes this wine: 91 pointsConsumed in a 375 mL bottle. Deep purple color. Rich aromas but this was a bit rough to drink. We did not decant it and this could be part of the problem. While it had the typical minerality on the palate that I love with Fonseca, this was less well balanced than the elegant 1994 which I had very recently. Perhaps this needs more time, greater decantation, or is simply different because of extreme weather conditions in 2003. |

4/22/2024 - cacastine Likes this wine: 94 pointsJust an excellent and great experience of an older vintage Port. Caramel, toffee, violets, nail polish, raisin and concentrated black fruits still ripe and integrated with perfect acidity. This is rich, well balanced although a little hot but drinking in a really exciting way right now. |

4/21/2024 - whitmanlholt wrote: 90 pointsPopped and poured from 375ml. This is a dark wine with a medium-red core, everything-staining concentration, and some heavy sediment at the end of the bottle. The nose is grapey, with cooked fruit and some burnt wood aspects. In the mouth, this is rich, loaded, and slightly grainy from the sediment. The finish is likewise rich and deep, with chocolate and fig aspects. Overall, this is a big hitter of a wine that should last forever. I don’t drink enough Vintage Port. 90 points. |

4/20/2024 - oldwines Likes this wine: 95 pointsFrom 375ml bottle. Lovely balance here, not hot, not overly sweet, rich dark berry fruit, chocolatey, floral, and spicy. Easy to drink and lively. This bottle was PnP and with some air would probably nudge a bit higher. |

4/19/2024 - Lord of the Bottles Likes this wine: 92 pointsSmall glass after many bottles. Not quite the complexity of the ‘70 Cockburn’s served alongside but your requisite chocolate, fig and stewed fruit notes. Very good. 91-92 |

4/20/2024 - MAkita Likes this wine: 95 pointsA real surprise here--the third bottle of this that I've opened, and by a long shot the best! I had my doubts on a heavily corroded capsule and a cork that instantly slid into the bottle, but to my surprise, this seems to have been kept perfectly! |

4/19/2024 - theportguy wrote: 93 pointsBeautiful dark golden in color. Initial oxidized nose with old wood, grilled pineapple and salted caramel on the nose. Good acidity and complex flavors of caramel, tropical fruits and beautiful acidity. This wine started off chilled, and it showed more oxidation, but as it slowly warmed up, it really blossomed into floral and tropical fruit notes on the nose and the pallet. |
