4/30/2024 - JC597 Likes this wine: 93 points2nd bottle. Promised notes, but didn’t quite get there. Drinking this bottle on Coravin to give it a few days and revisit. An hour in the glass while I put the kids to bed did wonders for this wine. |

4/30/2024 - tadams66 Likes this wine: 91 pointsThis was very nice when opened. Nice big dark fruit with dark cherries and currant. Not as complex or finish I would expect for the $$. I WOULD NOT decant this for long. It faded somewhat fast so I think this is on a fast decline. Drink up. |

4/30/2024 - Bruce W. wrote: 92 pointsYes, I realize that this is a totally different score than I gave it last summer, but the time - and probably more importantly a 2 hour decant, made a huge difference. Nice amount of oak - but not the oak bombs of some of the other napa cabs, soft tannins, a lot of fruit. Really well balanced. Just give it some air before drinking it. |

4/28/2024 - ABKroll Likes this wine: 90 pointsDecanted for 5 hours, smooth on the pallet, strong tastes of cherry, low acidity. I don’t have a prior bottle to compare it to for this vintage, but it’s good. Market value is half what I paid from the winery, which is not ideal for an above average price to lose so much after cellaring it for so long. |

4/28/2024 - Krasaki Likes this wine: 94 pointsReally great place right now. I think it’s right on the early part of maturity and a bit better than the last bottle given it had another 1.5 years. This time the flowery perfume was right there on opening with a lot of fruit and just a little gamey-ness. This paired very well with open-fire grilled lamb chops. |

4/27/2024 - wine65 Likes this wine: 94 pointsStill deep color red brick. Tertiary notes developed on the nose. Interesting burnt barbecue meat aroma. Nice balance between fruit and acidity. Hints of smoke, herbs and dark berries. Silky, hint of firm tannin on the finish. Medium length. Not sure this is going to improve any further, nice time to enjoy. |

4/27/2024 - JC597 wrote: 93 pointsBought 3 bottles on auction. First of 3. Still has good structure and tannins. Will probably hold at least one of the others for 5+ years. Wife didn’t even believe it was Cabernet. Very crisp and elegant with forward minerality. Not a fruit bomb, which I liked. Evolved significantly over 2 hours. I slow-ox’d for 45 mins to an hour. Drank over the next 2. Suggest a 1 1/2- 2 hour decant and then enjoy. One note: we enjoyed this with pork rib chops and it was perfect. Maybe not a steak wine (or maybe it is - with a filet or other lean cut, perhaps). Will follow with tasting notes on next bottle. |

4/25/2024 - wtianseter wrote: 92 pointsNice well balanced and tasteful wine. It has a touch of sweetness more that I think it should have but that may still be influence from the big fruitiness. Dry on the back pallet in the middle and on the mouth in the finish. Has not changed much since it was initially released. |

4/11/2024 - timewithwine Likes this wine: NRThe color does not reflect its age. It’s an opaque ox blood at the core with just a rim of plum. The nose is immediate with sweet roses and cassis as the wine pours into the decanter. Once in the glass, those notes are joined in full force with mint, graphite, cigar wrapper, roasted tomato and licorice. Excellent balance from attack through the long finish. Finesse and power at the same time marking the deft hand and knowledge of the winemaker. The fruit, acid and alcohol perform harmoniously. Decanted in anticipation of the amount of sediment, and it has thrown off a lot. And decanted again to help it wake up. Percent of alc. not specified. With pan seared, bacon wrapped (beef) filets, . 04.11.24. Highly Recommended. |

4/21/2024 - jlhkiss Likes this wine: 93 pointsOpened and decanted 1.5 hours ahead of seared filet, roasted potatoes, and grilled zucchini in olive oil. Was reductive on opening but the nose eventually blossomed into a lovely floral array of cherry blossoms, potpourri, red roses, crushed gravel, and mint. The palate is medium-full, round, silky, and voluptuous, bringing blackberries, blueberries, and cherries, followed by scattered coffee, tobacco, eucalyptus, leather, and that orange peel note into a refined finish. Much improved over our last tasting a few years ago, as this has retained its outstanding acidity and refined tannins yet developed more fruit and freshness on the palate. Drink 2024-2030. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93. |
