I mean, this is Lemberger, and this is nine years old now, and this is the basic wine, entry level. but it's nice, deep red colour, black berries, cassis, very very little "flüchtige Säure"/ volatile acid, with present tannins (mouth drying). Perfect integration of everything, no deep depth, no complex complexity, but this wine is delivering. No ageing, perfect in the drinking window now, would expect some 5-10 years to go (while not beeing one of these svabian connoisseurs and Spätzle-with-Sauce-lovers like my friends from Stuttgart and Esslingen). |
