Au nez, pêche en conserve, fruits tropicaux, pointe de ranciot, notes pétrolées subtiles; nez très complexe et invitant. En bouche, onctueux, du fruit, la pêche, fruits à chaire blanche, un soupçon de vanille, un peu d'agrumes, tout cela soutenu par une acidité agréable. Des notes florales s'ajoutent en rétro-olfaction. Très belle longueur. Accord remarquable avec canapés de crevette nordiques à la lime et sauce Sriracha. Un Riesling qui tient encore la route après 20 ans! Magnifique! |

Floral on the noise, almost exotic fruit and spices on the palate – resolutely dry, but the ripeness conveyed a sensation of sweetness. A friend of mine who tried it the next day thought she picked up tamarind. A long, long finish. A monument – truly complex on the nose and palate and very fascinating. But, truthfully, I wished it had a touch more lift and verve. Patrician, stately, blue-blooded, but perhaps a bit low-energy – don’t get me wrong, it’s great wine, just something I admire more than love. |
