5/12/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsThis was a pop and pour and would certainly benefit from time in the decanter, about and hour should suffice. A spicy elixir of high toned cherry notes followed by a touch of pepper. Undoubtedly new world without any signs of heat. Well balanced and a crowd pleaser. This is far from the burgundy I like but a solid wine in its prime with another 3-5 years of good drinking. |

5/10/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 94 points1.5 years since last bottle. Another stellar bottle with just enough fruit throughout. This still benefits and needs over an hour in the decanter to wake up. Overall very well balanced with just enough pencil shavings and spice to keep this interesting. Certainly in its prime with many years left of quality drinking. Revisit 2026 |

5/5/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 points1st of 6. This was quite open after 15 min in the glass and is one of the more accessible NV’s of recent memory. Nice balance that will continue to improve over the next few years. Finish is long. These are ready and inviting today and will likely reach full peak in 3-5 years and last for a couple of decades. 5/3/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsMy first time with this vintage and based on everyone else’s reviews, this was a tired bottle. Just toned down in every category. This still was acceptable and was enjoyed with white fish, lobster and sweet potato. Revisit 2025 |

4/30/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsNearly 2 years since my last bottle. This needed about 30 min in the glass to fully open and then it was a well balanced, inviting wine that paired well with scallops. Some green apple after 30 min but by 2 hours this reminded me of a recent 2012 Didier Dagueneau which was like licking river rock and chalk. The finish on this is quite long. These are in their prime but should continue to drink well for another 3-4 years. Revisit 2026 |

4/27/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 95 points3rd of 21. 2.5 years since last bottle. This still has massive energy and is laser focused. This did not fully reveal itself over a 2 hour dinner. Continuous glass swirling helped reveal, to some extent, this supremely balanced chiseled beauty but really beauty to be with a finish that simply didn’t end. This probably needs another 5-10 years to reach its prime and will easily drink well for 4-5 more decades. This was exceptional with oysters and held its own with rack of lamb. Revisit 2027 |

4/27/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 92 pointsLess than 2 weeks since my last bottle. This gets into prime form after 20 min in the glass. Light oak and high enjoyment pool side. Very smooth and good balance. Doesn’t have the depth of the best 1er and grand cru burgs but who cares. Best consumed within 1-2 years |

4/25/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsI purchased a couple of these in 2012 and stored properly since. This really needs a couple hours in the decanter at least. I brought this to a restaurant and decanted it there and it was somewhat muted for most of the meal. This has dark fruits up front and it has that massive inky grip you find in Napa. However, this had much more balance and was far more polished and civilized along the way. For me, this isn’t remotely close to being in its prime. This should easily drink well for another decade plus. This paired well with a bone in filet mignon. Revisit 2030+ |

4/23/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsPurchased a couple of these in 2012 and stored properly since. This needs a solid hour decant. Big inky grip up front that leads into a somewhat tame full bodied wine. Mostly resolved tannins. Nice finish, balance and fruit. I suspect this is in its prime but should drink well for at least 5 years. Revisit 2028 |

4/20/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 92 pointsPurchased this magnum at a Napa tasting room in 2012 and stored properly since. This needed about 30 minutes to fully open up. Velvety plush fruits up front led into a decently balanced wine with a nice finish. This was certainly in its prime and best consumed within the next few years. I was pleasantly surprised how good this was. It started to fade somewhat around hour 3. This paired well with northern Italian cuisine. |

4/17/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 95 points2nd of 6 and two months since my last bottle. This is still robust and youthful and benefitted from 30 plus minutes in the glass. Toast and lemon peel up front. This is well balanced with good depth throughout. Likely drinking in its prime with absolutely no rush to drink. These should drink well for a couple of decades on its balance and zippy upfront lemon zest. Revisit 2025 |

4/14/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsThis was decanted for 2.5 hours which was absolutely necessary. Then this was an inviting, extremely well balanced and polished wine with a long finish. If this is decanted, it’s certainly in its prime with a decade left of prime drinking. |

4/14/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 92 pointsThis is light on oak and high on enjoyability. This is a well balanced wine that drinks more like a Chablis then a Napa cab. Already in its prime and will drink well for another 1-3 years. |

This is a well balanced mouth coating hedonistic wine. This must be in or near its prime with decades ahead of it. I would suggest a long decant on this. This paired well with quinoa salad over lunch. |

There just wasn’t much going on and was almost flat. You win some and you lose some. Hopefully, the next bottle is better. If anyone has any insight on what’s going on here, let me know. |

3/29/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsPurchased at the winery in 2015. This was decanted for an hour and enjoyed with bone in filet mignons at our local steakhouse. This is a full bodied wine with dark fruits up front. The tannins are fully resolved and the balance is spot on. The finish is above average. No heat detected which is a feat in and of itself at 15.3%. This is drinking at absolute peak and best enjoyed in the near term. However, these will likely hold or begin a very slow decline over the next 2-3 years. This exceeded my expectations. Sadly this was my only bottle. |
