August 26, 2023 - Blind tasting, I guessed CdP on the first sip. I have a hit rate of about 1 in 4 these days, so that says more about the virtues of this wine than my blind tasting abilities. The wine has a rich barleywine flavor that I’ve only ever tasted in CdP, along with black pepper and raspberry. (Try a barleywine style beer if you haven’t had one.) While this is quintessentially CdP, it is also much better than average. Big and tannic, yet smooth and balanced. Inherently delicious to my tastes.
