Pretty weak one, unfortunately.
Tasted it after a quite nice Seguin Fixin La Place 2020, and compared to it is not only light but also it is a rather simple one with really not much to excite.

The scent is nice, if simple: raspberry and oak. In the mouth, this is very unstructured and simple: a slight bit of fruit, a bit of pinot noir-acidity - that's it. 3 hours after opening it gets more trivial still and is like a house wine in a cantina.

Only its density elevates it from most German baseline pinot noirs.

24 EUR is far too much for this wine.

Nice, but too refined (secondary fermentation ?), too manufactured ? My preference is for a little more acidity, a little less oak. this seems to be made to appeal to the conventional US chardonnay drinker. Surely drinkable nonetheless.

Has already had a couple of more years in my cellar than my previous consumed vintage and has clearly benefitted from the (unintentional) extra bottle age. Dark red fruits and berries with maquis herb influences and merest hint of truffle. Tufa minerality. Outstanding vale.
For drinking over the next couple of years. Now till 2026

The cellartracker.com drink window says this one is not ready to consume. I gambled and tried a bottle. I disagree. It is very good.....maybe the best bottle of Alexana Chardonnay that I have ever had. I might even be selling the numerical rating a little short.

Drunk over 2 days, better on day 2. Pretty classic Chassagne but lacking the depth i would expect from 2017 which was a great vintage in my experience. Enjoyable but could be better - I think a few more years will help.

Prior bottle clearly had some sort of cork issue that robbed it of just enough vitality to be noticeably different. This bottle fully recaptured my prior impressions. White and yellow pineapple on the nose, along with peach and floral qualities. Medium bodied with white apple and white peach upfront, with white pineapple and citrus bleeding in. Mid body adds a touch of yellow pineapple as well as passion fruit and then citrus and acidity. The fruit notes show the most complexity chilled, not cold and while the acidity isn't as steely as it previously was, it still contributes vibrancy and contrast. This is virtually exactly what I was expecting and I think strongly, if not definitively proves to me that my bottle earlier this week was flawed just enough to rob it of its distinctiveness. Based on the notes from today, I will probably open another bottle at some point this year as the wine is in a great spot currently.

Crisp apple with ripe williams pear nuances. Fullish but with good green zesty acidity and pebbly minerality. At its peak.
For drinking over the next year or so while grip maintained. Now till 2025.

A dry white wine, but not overly dry. Nice taste

I was lucky enough to drink this side by side with a '13 Kirchspiel. The Abts is comparatively much leaner and more mineral, but neither let the cold vintage skew the signature Keller fruit salad aroma. I wish I had decanted this for 8 hours instead of 2, as it felt closed and tight even to the last sip.

These wines have become so expensive because they are truly unique in the landscape of dry German wines. Nobody else I've tried can create such a pure, complex, and explosive aroma of fruits galore backed by a wall of minerality other than Keller.

Cracking into another case of this one. I feel so lucky to have been able to pick up a bunch of these wines.
This is very open and giving. On the nose I get white fruits, White peach. Some White pepper and spice. On the palate I get a slightly citrus profile but it’s developed a touch more yellow fruits and roundness than a year or so ago. Still a great acidity framing this wine. Element of flintiness and salinity. Touch of smoke. A lovely mouth feel. Lovely balance. Lots of energy.
These wines are just fantastic. I’ve been able to have a fair few 2017 cuvées, all are superb and in a great drinking zone currently.

Strawberry, roses and tar. Quite straightforward but good fresh acidity and very approachable at this young age

Superbly perfumed syrah. Good colour, fresh taste with lift and energy, energetic finish. Very much alive, this shows very well tonight. Intense but not overweight, tannic but in a very polished way. Excellent job, great QPR.

85: "White Zin" has a bad reputation, and deservedly so, but this bottle makes a good attempt to redeem the brand. The cloying sweetness mostly holds off until the finish, allowing for a hint of Zinfandel body before the sugar bomb hits. It paired well enough with a primavera-esque pasta, but more than that it filled the role of a casual mid-week bottle of wine. Pale pinkish color, smells like fruit punch, tastes better when well-chilled. (Not as good as I recall our last bottle, possibly due to age.)

Im loving 2017 white currently as they’ve mainly shed their acidity a little.
This shows classic lime flavour profile that’s classic Puligny. Nice roundness of mouth feel. Surprising sweetness of fruit on the finish.
As with other F Carillon wines I’ve tried, this is an easy drinker, but seems a bit short on the finish and lacks energy and excitement compared to other producers.

2021 Antinori Chianti Classico Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG Sangiovese Blend, Sangiovese (view label images)
Nice basic Chianti, worked very well with Tuscany-inspired cuisine. Third bottle out of three, this has evolved very positively over the course of one year. Initially a bit tight and almost greenish, this has opened up, mellowed down and now shows a good level of maturity. This is not a great wine, but in the league of "pizza chianti", this is surely one of the best.

Nice density of fruit, cherries, strawberries and a very enticing 2021 spice that reminds me of fresh black amber plums. Light oak and just right tannins, this is very approachable and enjoyable. I followed this wine over 4 days. The wine put on weight and gained in density with time and tasted even better. Bought more. 591 bottles produced. Wax capsules starting in 2021.

It’s far more golden than I’d expect. If I didnt know any better I’d say this was oxidised; bruised apple, a bit of butterscotch, perhaps barley sugar. But I don’t think it is oxidised. I can’t describe it, the acidity pokes out way too much as well. I love Huet but this isn’t quite right.

Very tannic, can feel the alcohol out the bottle. Got her in a decanter and will taste over several hours. Right now: black olive, black cherries, stewed blackberries, cinnamon, cloves. Some new tires, graphite. Very structured wine, will probably soften with time but I couldn’t wait to open it.

Much more dark fruited and stemmy than the Haart Pinot beside it. It's drinking well considering how young it is. This is a competitive QPR at $50 for Pinot, but it's not worth much more than that.

It has been too long since I opened a bottle made by Killian and Philipp, the talented Giegerich brothers. So, I was excited to enjoy this young beauty. This was a serious wine that is clearly built to age. Rich yet energetic with some weight and gravitas to go with savory minerality and citrus zest.
The texture is almost creamy from the extended time on lees in 228 liter barriques and can feel the warmth of the sandstone soils from which the vines are grown.
This is a wine that pushes Silvaner into a category of new and dare I say modern expectations for what can be done with this grape in the right hands. It reflects both its terroir and the vision of its talented producers. I am very much looking forward to tasting this wine again in 3-5 years.

Outstandig nose from Cork and bottle straight after opening! Flowerish and deep citruspeel. In mouth almost violent and pinpricking feel. Not nealy mature! (Hold for at least 5 more years). This Wine is bound to last, for decades. After 5 hours it begins to mellow down, an reveal its true nature. It is and will stay a strong powerfull exponent of Riesling. Only defeat is the lack of elegance. Still it topshelf dry german Rheinhessen.

Pale green-hued straw. Enticing nose, saline but with an underlying richness that’s more about density than gras. Similar on the attack, proper Chablis with proper GC weight. Dense, chewy, mineral, saline, grippy and tangy acidity. Really proper GC Chablis. I was a little concerned it might be too ripe given the vintage, but not the case. With air, a hint of vanilla emerges from the sea spray, but it really only adds some additional complexity around the taut frame. Gosh, this is lovely. Opened a decade or so earlier than I’d normally contemplate, the result of having accidentally pulled a bottle rather than a full case back from offsite storage. Now, where are the other bottles… ****1/2

Having previously bought this en primeur (now drunk), I recently acquired 6 more bottles at a not unreasonable price. It is drinking well now, but there is still some youthful vigour, and there is noticeable acidity which is helping to keep it fresh. Medium weight and length. It will be interesting to see how this develops over the next 2 to 3 years.

$12.56. Cork. Clear white gold color. Beautiful floral citrus nose when Coravin'd, no sulfite or alcohol odor. Balanced with more acid than tannin. Fruit and flower palate and very long and pleasant aftertaste. Very different from both Sauv Blanc and Viognier. Keeping this in stock along with Viognier and Cab.
