Just fabulous, this is extraordinarily elegant and lively for a Valpolicella with such depth and complexity.

Didn’t have much here. Very closed off

Some fruit on the palette immediately but not much thereafter and no real finish.

Decanted 30-45 minutes

Pours even magenta. Bit of sulfur that blew off immediately in the glass. Powdery cherry hard candy, rose, lavender, blackberry pie, clove, and a touch of gravelly minerality on the nose. Palate carries over, with a bracing acidity, and drinkable freshness. Tannins are very light and smooth, there's no heat here, this hides the 15.7% alcohol well. Great now, probably one to drink within the next five years or so.

Dark fruit, cherry, peppery spice, violets... medium to full, fine tannins, beautiful spicy inner perfume, a little savory and spicy as the ripe dark fruit fades. Should be worth following another few years.

Decanted for 30-45 minutes then sealed before dinner

Really nice and then turned to port notes after 90-120 minutes. Still enjoyable - interesting to see the change

Went down easy throughout and was well balanced

Very good. Dense, rich dark fruit with some oak, cedar notes. Very enjoyable Napa cab. Great balance - decanted for about 90 minutes

Huge surprise. Fresh and vibrant with first notes mixed with the fruit notes. Finish a bit short but this punches way above expectations.

Good backbone of tannin and acidity. Fruit flavors forward, cherry & grape. Good early drinking but will benefit from laying down for a bit.

Prominent dust/earthy nose. Smooth with mild fruit. Good, but different than my last bottle.

Lots of watermelon and lemon zest on the nose. That flavor also follows through to the palate but it’s the citrus that really comes through the most. Light to medium body with a tart, zippy, dry finish but an aftertaste that lingers a bit and is delicious. Easy drinking for sure

Rich raspberry flavors, lots of sweetness, but of a good type. This is a really nice Zin. Drink it now, as it probably isn't going to get any better.

Wonderful bouquet of red and purple fruit but a bit transient on the palette and somewhat of a supporting cast to the high alcohol and heat.

Auction purchase, P&P; Fragrant nose showing lots of tobacco, spice, and some barrel notes. In the mouth, black and red berries lead, with tobacco and spice in the middle and a hit of tannin with some sweet vanilla on the finish. It's good wine, but I guess I was hoping for more given the vintage and that this is the estate's top wine. Drink now - 2028.

This wine is absolutely hitting its stride. Took long enough. Dark fruit and cassis implemented with some funky, beautiful forest floor notes. Perfect, big Aglianico just singing right now. Maybe two to three years left.

Drank from a 375ml.

Decanted and drank over less than an hour.

Opened up nicely.

Notes of red cherry, red plum, pepper, and mint, maybe even some neem.

Tannins took some time to mellow out.

Drinks nicely on its own.

89 points.

Bouchon moisi et complètement imbibé, mais j'ai été capable de l'enlever sans le briser. Le vin est vraiment très bon. Beau fruit, belle acidité, longueur moyenne.

Really textbook case here. The colour is tawny at best but really it’s brown.
Smells of coffee, burnt butter or caramel, a little soy sauce. Slight alcohol burn. No fruit left. On the palate, slightly vinegary and thin, notes of coffee again with very distant cooked fruit. Soul is missing really.
Sad day :(

Medium yellow color with some haziness. Sweet nose consisting of ripe green apple, green banana, some flower which I can’t tell exactly, and breakfast muffin (butter/egg/wheat flour/toast) - sometimes gives an illusion of banana cake. In the mouth, almost syrupy concentration, a touch of residual sugar, very slight fizz, a lot of yeastiness and burning powdery acidity. Finish/back-nose is not as strong as the lingering body enhanced by malty bitterness. Cleary natural-style and having good edge to stand-out, but just a bit tiring to drink a lot of this.

Three-hour decant. Deep black-garnet color with garnet edges. Aromas of black currant & cassis, paprika, clove, tobacco, saddle leather and iron. Blackberry & currant fruit flavors, refined and ripe, with secondary cigar box, black tea, violets, and graphite. Medium-to-full in body, fleshy with rounded edges, medium acidity, finishing with iron-tinged tannins, broad and round, and lingering notes of black fruit and cocoa nibs on a moderately long finish. Modern style. Great QPR at Costco retail. Drink/hold.

This time with air- so good. Paired with lavender dry aged duck at Anhelo in Phoenix. Structure is on point with tremendous backbone that will prove vital through its long development window- even for a village. This, as mentioned, is on the darker side of the spectrum with gorgeous crunchy black berries, dark currant, earth, granite, gorgeous spice with a beautiful juicy finish. Could one argue it’s more St Denis than Chambolle, yes. Does it have the traits of CM, yes it does as well. It might be one of the better deals in Burgundy. Hold 1-2 years or give it a good decant.

The nose has an astonishing finish that segues to this lovely zenith. Blackberries, raspberries, wet earth, bing cherries, button mushrooms and brick. The finish echoes on and on, as this ode to berry unfolds layer by layer. Silky, radiant tannins with a finer persistence. Full-bodied and sensual: the ultimate sexy Gamay. More accessible than the classic ‘21, yet this will age with panache. There’s cut and depth. Aged in neutral Burgundian barrels and not shy, this remains ultimately magnetic. Drink 2025 -.

Enjoyed it with BBQ Chicken. A strong wine but rather one dimensional, especially compared to the Carmenere/Malbec/Syrah blend from the same vineyard. I bought this 100% Carmenere to compare to the blend. Would not buy the 100% again but would buy the blend in a heartbeat.

Great value wine, the Grenache sweetness present on the palate. Drink up.

Love this wine. Everything I look for in a chardonnay. Rich, bright palate with a long finish. Citrus and jasmine nose.

Great mouse, deep yellow, nose of apples, creamy brioche, 4 grams of dosage just introduces a softness to the cuvee, balanced and good finish. Very morish.

Pouilly-Fuisse is rarely going to be bad. That being said, this was far from my favorite bottle; I’ve had better French Chardonnay for half the price. I found this to be out of balance, over oaked, and slightly too acidic and almost bitter on the finish. You can do much better for the price.

P&P through an aerator. Flavors kind of stewed, so not sure if this was heat damaged or what. Blue and black berries, brambly earth, black tea tannins, sharp acidity. Give this one more time. Drink 2026-2038.

Medium garnet in colour, slightly see through in the center, with a medium reddish rim.

Relatively fruit forward on the nose with noticeable oak - Smoke, leather, vanilla, fresh red cherries, and a hint of blood orange. I can also smell the alcohol a bit.

On the palate, there are more tertiary notes coming through in the beginning with the red cherries hiding in the background. Leather, wet earth, peppercorns, and red cherries. Good upfront acidity with fine tannins, with a bit of heat towards a decently long finish.

Overall, this is not bad at all, but there is this aftertaste which I'm not the biggest fan of.

Lunch with the wine ark boys (McLeay Street Bistro, Potts Point): Ripe berries, walnut, dried fruits are very Christmas pudding as are the supporting baking spices; cinnamon especially, rich, vanilla, cream here as well. In the mouth it's lusciously sweet, thick, rich, the flavours less well delineated here - sugar perhaps a tiny bit too high? Simple, okay.

It’s structured, well balanced on the palate, ripe fruit but not hot or alcoholic or baked notes, subtle oak, med finish. High value wine.

Black cherries, rosemary, sarsaparilla, ripe raspberries and chiseled rock. Sappy and energetic, with a medium body and finish. There’s a Mediterranean aspect to the palate. Stunning fruit and a wonderful display, with layers of berries. Serious and able to age, but so engaging today. Pleasing, silky tannins and some bite. Drink 2025 - 2040.
