This is a light to medium rose colored wine. It has nice strawberry and nutty flavor components. The body is light to medium body with an attenuated structure. This is a good wine with refreshing acidity, and a good dollar value.

This is excellent white burg. For sure hits above its name pedigree. Close to its bigger siblings. Drink now - 5 yrs to retain freshness and fruit. Great stuff

Nose is green apples and pear. Mouth is fresh acidity and a hint of honey sweetness. Green apples and pear is present in the taste, but also a bit of lemon peel

Wonderful bouquet with a little spice and cedar on the nose; blackberry/bramble fruit & dark cherry with supple tannins on the palate and balanced acidity gives way to a pleasant, lingering finish of spice that beckons another sip. A wonderful compliment to meat dishes.

This is one of the best Sauvignon Blancs I've had. Love it. All the tropical goodness in the Aroma and on the palate with some complexity. Passion Fruit, Grapefruit, grass notes. Finish is wonderful and long. Acidity is bright and mouth watering. I'll be back for more of this

Didn’t take notes but remember it being very good. Really refined and well structured. Dark cherry, plum, tobacco, oak. What’s not to like, except maybe the price.

A bright, fruity, easily accessible super Tuscan (for us new world fans). Lovely aromas and flavors of tasty black and purple cherries and berries, flowers, some darkness and touch of oak, all well-balanced with bracing acidity and smooth tannins; long finish, with fruit holding to the end. A nice sipper, but even better with food.

Same as previous notes. Excellent QPR at $35. Very tasty without being too acidic with nice structure & balance. I’m buying more.

A vineyard planted in 2010. In 2017 the cepage is 26% Chenin Blanc, 26% Chardonnay, 23% Roussanne, 21% Verdelho, 4% Muscat. I really like Cape blends, but this is perhaps slightly disappointing. The Chenin is a little assertive and the youth of the vines shows perhaps. A couple of years may help.

No formal notes. Bright translucent ruby, lots of fresh red fruits, cherries, lively acidity, a bit of the Nebbiolo tar and roses but I might have guessed it to be Sangiovese if I had it blind. Really good for what it is. Don’t expect a Barolo/Barbaresco, just a nice, fresh clean neb with a great QPR. Drinking well now. 89-90.

12.5% alcohol. Short note as this was consumed at a restaurant. This wine is very seductive, brimming with bright red fruit. Very primary and delicious at this early stage. Good length and no sharp edges.
One of the best southern Syrah based wine that I ever had.

This is a wine from Susana Balbo's winery.
Very dense, opaque violet on the colour.
I drank with 4 years of age. Could age more, but the aromas were open. Didn't decant it, but the bottle was kept open for about 3 hours between drinks.
Tasty blackfruits.

Kleur: Diep opaak donkerrood. 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Smaak / Afdronk: 19 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 95/100

Colour: Deep opaque dark red. Aroma / bouquet: An initially somewhat closed nose. After some time, impressions of soft red fruit, an almost Grenache-like bouquet, cigar boxes, dried dark fruit. Taste / Aftertaste: A pleasant, subtly fresh acidity, beautifully ripened but sturdy tannins with a refined bitterness, lots of thickness and concentration, so that the 14.5% alcohol does not dominate in any way. Special combination of power and finesse, a punch with a velvet glove. General / potential: Great wine, but not yet optimal. Still DEFINITELY!!!! Leave for 4 years. 50 + Colour: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 12 + Taste / Aftertaste: 19 + General / potential: 9 = 95/100

Really fresh, a bit fruit forward - not jammy at all, but it jumps out of the glass. Mixed berries, plum, good minerality, silky tannins. Really good when you’re in the mood for a more fruit forward sipper or maybe with a peppery steak.

Classic riesling, definiltely off-dry/bit sweet, beautiful flowery riesling nose, perfect balance, clean and moderately long. Giving it 89 b/c that bit of residual sugar isn't really my thing, I prefer a dry Kabinett.

First bottle of the case. PNP and enjoyed over 3 hours. Pretty good right out of the bottle with ripe red fruit on the nose and palate and a nice, long, elegant finish. With some air the secondaries develop a bit on the nose. Really enjoyable wine to drink right now. Perhaps not the most complex but I enjoyed it. Drink now. B+/A-
Rosé
This was always lagging compared to the 2016, so I just left it alone. I wasn't expecting that it would improve, but lo and behold, it is better, much better now...

It'll leave you searching, this is subtle but all over the place... vague aromas of vegetable and nut oils, strawberry candy, orange creamsicle, fennel, thyme, melon... tart and full, gorgeous inner perfume of sweet red berries, citrus and herbs, long and mineral, grippy and staining, this is best on the finish. I have to imagine this can't get better, but we'll stored bottles should be worth following at least another year or two.

Probably drank too late in the night after two other glasses. Super pale ruby. Lighter body. Quite tart, nice mineral backbone, bright red fruits, sweet strawberry, leather. Probably deserves another shot on its own. Try a more recent vintage.

Compared to the Dalamara '20 opened previously, this shows much less Xinomavro typicity. Less structured, less red/more dark fruit and a distinct note of black Rowntrees Fruit Gum. Not unpleasant, but not amazing.

Brought to JJ Prüm (yes, brought to) as was having lunch with Dr Katharina Prüm (lovely winemaker). She was pleased but unfortunately, the bottle was a bit advanced.

Quite basic, just medium minus acid, showing more age than I would expect from a white that is only 5 years old. Finishes bitter and beany, don't get what all the Vital hype is about.

Fine looking bottle corked a bit soft and soaked extracted with Durand. Decanted an hour before serving. You ought to fall in love with this wine visually already, this raw unfiltered touch murky looking radiant ruby red it tells you what feisty wine awaits of the highest emotional order. Served in Bordeaux Zalto which I think go fantastic with this wine and older Chave personally. Nose: Grassy, beef blood, iodine, pepper infused honey. The palate is peppery sweet, very „friendly“, super engaging, one sip follows the next, you reach for another pour, measured alcohol 13 pct such an elegant masterpiece that still feels like such an honest wine.

Oh I love this wine… 98++

Didn’t take notes when drinking. Super pale ruby/garnet, fully transparent. Light body. Fruit was muted but eventually came out. Light red berry and cherry fruit with a touch of forest floor/mushroom. Like an extremely light cross between Pinot and Sangiovese. Low tannins, good acidity, was nice overall. 88

Slightly reductive and does not open fully. Maybe too young. Flint and wet stone. Elegant and pure from being superdry and high in acidity. Almost no fruit in the bottle sampled, only a hint of citrus. Herbal. Some peppery, licorice at the end. Medium + finish. Medium body and nice mouthfeel. An interesting wine that may benefit from aging in the bottle.

Scent of honeydew-melon in the air before lifting the glass. Sniffing we find pear, salty Mediterranean wibes and some citrus. In mouth pear, lemon, lime, cardemom, butter, minerality and heather and honey. Medium to full body. Good acidity. Great with tapas and cheeses.

Consistent with previous note. Deep and dark and perhaps slightly hot and attenuated if being critical. However for the price it’s a very solid wine, especially to accompany food. Can’t imagine it improving with further age.

60/40 Grenache/syrah. Ripe red and dark fruits, savoury olive and pepper notes with a hint of spice. Definitely fresh and fruit forward from the Grenache. Also a bit hot/alcoholic. Clean finish. Quite gulpable. I like it. 88-89 points.
