This note is for Stumpf Nature, 2022.
Strawberry, red cherry, fresh red roses, well integrated but also straightforward. Some leather and black tea that adds to the depth.

A Single-Quinta Vintage Port made with fruit sourced from the vineyards of Quinta de Terra Feita, located on the western banks of river Pinhão, a tributary of Douro river. First vinified by foot-treading, then followed by additional extraction by robotic plungers. Fortified with 77% aguardente, aged in large oak vats for 1½ to 2 years, then bottled unfined and unfiltered. 20% alcohol.

Somewhat translucent and moderately evolved cherry-red color with a somewhat maroon hue - looks slightly lighter and more evolved than the 2005 Vargellas. The nose feels somewhat evolved with sweet, dark-toned aromas of wizened cherries, some raisiny and pruney tones, a little bit of savory meaty character, light spirituous notes of aguardente, a hint of dried flowers and a touch of cooked strawberry. The wine feels sweet, soft and somewhat resolved on the palate with a full body and moderately evolved flavors of strawberries, some dark-toned notes of prunes and raisins, a little bit of ripe black cherry, light perfumed notes of dried flowers, a boozy hint of aguardente and a touch of blueberry jam. The somewhat modest medium acidity only accentuates the overall roundness of the wine, although the somewhat grippy medium-plus tannins bring some welcome firmness to the palate. The finish is rich, somewhat grippy and moderately warm with a sweet, quite long aftertaste of raisins, some wizened black cherries, a little bit of strawberry jam, light pruney tones, a hint of sun-baked earth and a savory touch of meaty umami.

A rich, somewhat soft and moderately evolved Single Quinta Vintage Port. Pleasant, but nothing particularly impressive - I was actually quite surprised how evolved the wine seemed. While still far from falling apart, this wine was still noticeably much more developed and closer to its plateau of maturity compared to the 2005 Vargellas that we tasted at the same time. I doubt the wine is going to improve much with additional aging, so there is no harm done by popping a bottle open now. Feels somewhat expensive for the quality at 30€ for a half bottle.

Grown-up barbera, aged in new oak, now nicely integrated with a powerful fruit coming through the oak. Really excellent.

More evolved and integrated from my previous bottle with darkish red fruit, tart, minerals, and earth. Lovely sweetness on the palate. Like most of Marchand Tawse's grand cru, it was still a bit light even for a 2010. Drinking at peak.

Agree to the opinions stating this has less acidity than usual. As for other 22s, this felt borderline flabby, especially when warming up. Nose is wonderful, fruit is great but it doesn't have this electric feel of other vintages. Probably better to be consumed sooner than later.

Schöner, typischer Kellerspätburgunder mit leichter Reduktion, schöne Balance zwischen Frucht und Struktur, eher leicht, aber nicht banal

Elegant, light-footed. Beautiful acidity and not too sweet. Could have benefited from a little more stuffing (as in complexity) but otherwise very much on point.

Very good now, and less advanced than my last bottle. This will easily keep another 3-5 years, though it's delicious as it is - see my last note for details.

I can't say I agree with the other notes of this being a superb Bourgogne Blanc. Initially it was full of matchstick reduction, but after a short while it sort of fell apart. There was plenty of acidity in the wine, but somehow it lacked the tension to support the ripe fruit and oakiness. Considering the price, I'd rather buy something else.
Maybe it'll come together with some more age, who knows?

From Magnum. Opened 2 hours before serving.
At first the tannins were overwhelming but with some air the wine developed beautiful aromas of dried fruit as well as spicy notes. The last sips were clearly the best.
Very good wine that should be even better in 5 years. I can only imagine how good the 2015 and 2016 vintages are (regrets éternels for not buying bottles at 50 CHF when they were widely available)

Medium yellow gold. Yellow fruit, pear, honeysuckle, herbs, and saline notes, with good, medium-level acidity, and very good length. Medium-bodied, with good concentration, and an oily texture. Popped & poured the wine was unrewarding, but it was more open and accessible on day two. I would hold it for another year or two, and drink from 2026.

Diam cork. Light lemon colour. Pear, apple, herbs, anise, a spice component, and stony minerality, with fresh, medium-level acidity, and great persistence. Full-bodied, with good concentration. Great tension and freshness. Very vibrant. A great CdP! Drink or hold. 92(+)

Dark ruby color. Cedar wood scent dominate at first hour. After 3 hour the nose shift to red-black fruit and spice which is confirmed on the palate. Medium-full body quite long floral-scent aftertaste.

Beautiful wine, in a great place right now with aromas of both fresh and dried red berries and mixed herbs. Oak influence is marked but the flavours are well-integrated, balanced by underlying freshness.

Dark fruit (blueberry, ripe black cherries, a touch of bramberry) combined with coffee and olives.
Raw meat and a flinty faint smokiness with balanced tannins in a medium body.
Much improved in the last few years and great with grilled meat.
Glass: Open Up Mature

There is Sancerre and there is SANCERRE. While these are great drinking young they grow to something different giving them just a few more years, complexity improves yet the crispy nature remains. Great balance, long finish, complex - and excellent pairing with propoer food.

Open up with medium to dark ruby. Very intense black-red fruits. But a bit tangerine smell at first too.

After 1 hour ripe black fruit taken over everything. Lots of acidity and tannin on the palate. Quite big body rather long finish.

This was a weird experience--eyes closed, on the nose and front palette, I might have called this as an oaky new world chardonnay because of the excessive oak. Then it shows itself as Volnay on the mid-palette and finish. Interesting but not my fave.

Aromatics of ripe berries, pressed flowers and sunshine waft from the bottle. In the mouth, this is all tart rhubarb, cherry pits, and robust chalky minerals. Very 2020 in its heftier frame and bigger tannins, but still retains a degree of grace and balance. Not a fruit-forward wine - it’s there, but lurking beneath the surface. Drinks well now, but will probably be superb in another 4-5 years. 92+

Not so impressed this time. Might be me but some of the integration I enjoyed before seems to have gone missing. Still a gutsy wine which might be going through a phase.

Deep red color. Acidic and tannic but in excellent balance. Gentle but with strength in the mid-palette and finish. Pierre apparently uses lots of new wood in his wines.

PnP. Deep salmon in colour. Moderate fine bead. Red-fruited and earthy on the nose, quite expressive. On the palate, this is complex and savoury with good depth and captivating acidity. There is also a sense of tannin here. Works quite well with food. Very good Nebbiolo Brut Rose.

Ripe, sexy, and alluring. New world for sure but well balanced and finessed. Not especially nuanced at the moment but I believe there is good potential for further development here. At the moment, the fruit takes center stage and generates more than enough interest to keep the wine engaging. A bit of sour cherry comes through on the finish which keeps me from completely falling in love with this wine but the depth and polish of the red fruit is otherwise super attractive.
Red
More funk than I expected on the nose — gives way to some herbal notes, herb stems, subtle mint, black tea, espresso, and dark berries. Palate has more of the same with dark fruit at its core. Medium acidity, tannins felt pretty resolved to me. Drinks easy but not in a bad way.

Two hour decant. Even more would work because it took an hour more to really smooth out. Excellent then, with considerable upside over next 5 years. Big wine as expected with cab, petit verdot and tannat being the major contributors.

We really enjoyed this wine at this stage; Nice stone fruit, white flower, and a touch of spice; The last one I had 3 year ago was a touch too floral and acidic to where it was a little out of balance, Today it has come together nicely.

Pop and pour. Gorgeous nose with guava, peach and lime. On the palate: lacking some midpalate acidity, but nice density and played very well with more acidic fare. Solid acid on the finish, which shows some heat. A very nice btl with the right food pairing (we did harissa chickpeas and rice).
