Introduction

The Dallas 2nd Wednesday Group got together Wednesday night at The Green Room in Dallas, Texas to taste our way through some Pacific Rim wines, mostly focusing in on Washington. Here are the results:

Tasted at a wine dinner. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout with fine, tiny beading. Nose of cookie dough, yellow pears, yellow apples and light notes of sherry. Flavors of lemon, yellow pears and yellow apples. Bright acidity, medium body. Drink or hold. 90-91. Disgorged 4/4/2009.

Tasted at a wine dinner. Opened and served immediately. Light yellow color in the glass, clear hue throughout. Nose of pineapple, yellow apples and a bit of mixed tropical fruits. Flavors of persimmon, lemon and a bit of papaya. Light to medium acidity, light to medium body. Drink now. 89-90.

Nose is a little tight right now giving way to aromas of berries, plums, rose petals and white pepper. Flavors of black cherries, black berries, plums, a little boysenberry and a bit of bitters on the medium to long finish. Medium acidity, medium to firm tannins, full bodied. Drink now with some air time or continue to hold. 92-93.

Tight nose giving way to aromas of rose petals, cranberries, white pepper, clove and a bit of earth. Flavors of Bing cherries, red berries and a bit of raspberry. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink now with a fair amount of air time or continue to hold. No rush. 91-92.
