Introduction

This was an overall great port tasting. The '07s are looking very good and the '03s are still drinking extremely well so young.

Flight 1 (8 notes)

Sweet berries on nose and cherry palate. Nice silky tannins. I really like the cherries on this wine. Delicious stuff.

Retail tasting of Ports. Jotted down some quick tasting notes. Right off the bat I got some good amount of heat and currant on the nose. Tons of dark fruits on the palate. Nice finish to this wine, still needs time to calm down a bit.
Red - Fortified
2003 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto

Dark, massive and tannic. Nice spice, plum and chocolate notes. Drinking very nicely.
Red - Fortified
2003 Fonseca Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
92 points
Very young port. Alcohol came through on the palate a little. Nice cedar, spice cake with plenty of dark fruit. Long and powerful finish. Needs a lot more time to bring everything into focus.
Red - Fortified
2007 Taylor (Fladgate) Porto Vintage Portugal, Douro, Porto
95 points
I was shocked at how approachable these '07s are right now. Nice dark purple color. Dark berries for days, sweet and massive on the palate, just mouth coating. I even get some nice floral notes along with some spice. Great port.

In comparison to the '07 Taylor I thought this was much more massive and powerful where the Taylor was more feminine/elegant in style.

Dark purple in color. Super seductive on the nose and palate. I got tons of dark berries, vanilla and hints of earth. Nice long finish.
Red - Fortified
N.V. Fonseca Porto 10 Year Old Tawny Portugal, Douro, Porto

Light brown color with hints of red. Walnuts, maple syrup, honey and spice box.

Nice 20-year. Walnuts, fig, caramel, hint of chocolate. Nice and smooth.
