White - Sparkling
1990 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon France, Champagne

Lovely elegant Champagne, perfect for combination with dinner. Full bodied and well mature with bubblegum, caramel and fruit tones.
Red
1990 Château Phélan Ségur France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
88 points
Brick colour on the edge. Fruit but also some vegetable tones in the nose. Exceeding expectation fairly rich palate with prune tones but drying tannins in the finish. Drink soon.
Red
1990 Château Sociando-Mallet France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Haut-Médoc
91 points
Classic nose with Cabernet/ green tones. Pencil shavings and earth. Elegant palate, velvet, with powerful finish and iron tones. Pauillac style.
Red
1989 Château Grand-Puy Ducasse France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
89 points
Surprisingly good and complex wine, typical Cabernet. Attractive ripe fruit in nose and palate but drink it soon, drying tannins in the finish.
Red
1990 Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
96 points
Keeps going strong (and held well beside the Lafite 1989). Such a rich wine with cigar tobacco, earth (boers), graphite, iodine and many beautiful fruit tones. Broad palate with great length. Opened 6 hours in advance.
Red
1989 Château Lafite Rothschild France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac
97 points
Very similar to my notes last year; such an Elegant and at the same time powerful wine. Lots of ripe fruit tones, graphite, minerals and earth plus a sweet tone in the nose. Beautiful elegance wrapped within its Pauillac character. Ages beautifully.
White - Sweet/Dessert
1989 Château Rieussec France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
Orange/ yellow colour. Bread & pudding cake, apricot and tangerine in the nose. Full concentrated palate beautiful balance, excellent acidity. Dried figs and apricot tones. Long finish, great wine but don't wait too long.
