White - Sweet/Dessert
2010 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac

Medium golden core and light rim. Lemon curd, pineapple, apricot intermixed with touch of spice. Very deep. Full bodied, highly intense yet the sweet acidity cut through the sweetness and oiliness that keep the wine fresh and lifted. Still primary but showing good sense of balance and elegance. Long, ginger spice infuse finish, light almond nut and sweet dates at the backend. Lovely. 92-93+
White - Sweet/Dessert
2008 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac
90 points
Light medium golden. Equivalent freshness but lighter in profile, soft elegant bortrytis spice dominating the aromatic profile along with lemon curd, zesty and quite a lovely floral scents. Medium bodied, this has medium flavors intensity with good richness but light on its feets, especially the mineral and ginger spices complexity showing well here that added attractiveness. Honey, sweet peaches and dried apricot showing at the long, gripping finish. This too is a lovely wine, pure and fine. 90-92
White - Sweet/Dessert
2006 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac
86 points
Medium golden. The nose a reserve, a bit straightforward aromas that consisting pineapple, spices and honey. Sweet and highly concentrated, fuller bodied than both 08 & 10. With just sufficient of acidity to balance the richness. Not quite showing as dominating by the sugar today and lack of the mineral and spicy complexity like the previous two. Long and bold. 86-88?

Flight 2 (3 notes)

White - Sweet/Dessert
1998 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac

Medium golden. Wow, this show different complexity and maturity of aromas. Complex and lifted, with light petroleum note intermixed with pineapple, sweet peaches, dried herbs and saline mineral. Much lighter and approachable as the sweetness has mellowed down and showing better mineral and ginger spices complexity which lingering on the palate. I especially like the savoriness and saline minerality here. Not the best scale nor dimension, but this wine has got the sexy the seductiveness that one can keep drinking it. Long and lingering.
White - Sweet/Dessert
1997 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac

Medium - dark golden. This too showing secondary complexity but even deeper and lifted. Sweet pineapple, date and lemon curd. Light kerosene, incense, dried herbs and mineral. Medium bodied, refreshing with red dates, citrus zest, saline mineral and incense, ginger spice. Delicious, long and intense. 90+
White - Sweet/Dessert
1995 Château Coutet Barsac France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac

Pretty much holding back on the nose here, a touch of kerosene and lots of red dates. On the palate is too pretty shy, with lots of ginger, saline mineral, spices and refreshing acidity. Very clean, almost dry on the long, intensely grippy finish. 90+
