Light red. Earthy scent. Light weight but already has a nice feel. Mulled red fruit with blacker fruit at the end. Serious, sound acidity, needs a few years.

Also light red. More perfumed than the VV with some anise. Black fruit, chestnut tones. Light weight but impressively powerful and expansive with crisp acidity, some soil and a fairly tannic finish. Very unevolved.

Medium red. Aromatically forward but not so in the mouth. Medium weight, high acidity and saline impression. Very backward, showing little fruit now and a hint of green. I found this the most difficult wine in the range to evaluate.

Pale. Nose of strawberry, soil and subtle smoke. Lighter weight but remarkably smooth feel. Blueberry fruit, zingy acidity and gently earthy. Supple, more open, and not as aggressive in the mouth as the previous 2 wines. Really excellent balance and length. Clearly the best of the flight to this point.

Medium ruby. Forward berry-like red fruit plus strong menthol tones. Great combination of laciness and sap-very pleasing feel. Baked ripe red fruit that the wines to this point did not have, spice, but this also has a significant touch of green herb in the flavors. Fluid, lower acid and tannins. As always, very elegant and refined, but this is the one wine tasted that makes you wonder if the vegetal elements will become problematic over time.

Deepest, darkest color of the line up. Brooding, sweaty nose, very different from any of the other wines. Black and blue fruits, a minimal bit of green, much less than the Cailles. Roundest, most concentrated wine of the bunch but not the least bit chunky or overextracted. Excellent acidity, round tannins. A big boy but not fearsome. This has great potential, and I feel it is much more of a sure thing than the Cailles.

Gray market bottle. Deep ruby without any fading. This rapidly developed beautiful perfume of blue fruit and mint. Wonderful synthesis of amplitude and breadth with a certain airiness. Fresh, crisp fruit, firm acidity, increasing earth, and some tannic grip still to be resolved. Some late arriving dark chocolate. Outstanding wine in its early phase of maturity-better in 5+ years.
