A nice change of pace to start the evening lineup. Tasty cider from Chimacum, Olympic Peninsula, with bright apple tones and effervescence.

Couleur jaune tres pâle. Nez légèrement floral. En bouche, belle fraîcheur avec des éléments de zeste de citron et de coquillages écrasées.

Volatile nut skins and dried rinds on the nose. Fascinating and complex tones of nut, dried herb, and white fruits. Another nice change of pace to add interest to the lineup. Paired well with the appetizers and cheese - thanks Marc and MJ!

Excellent feature to tonight's lineup. Appealing complexity, with a touch of butter to add some thickness and body to the palate. Paired well with the selection of nut and cheese appetizers that Marc and MJ have at the tasting.

Another quality bottle from Warren. I've sampled this on a few occasions, and this really flies the flag high for American chardonnay, if you are partial to the brighter, higher-acid style (read:non butter bomb). The P-B has appealing tones of citrus and yellow fruit, a touch of green apple, and plenty of bright racy elements on the palate. Overall, a stylish package, an American chardonnay with panache. A producer to seek out.

Thanks Warren for bringing this to the lineup. I had sampled this earlier in the summer. Well balanced acidity and floral grapefruit tones, with nice complexity and chromatics, evoking some semblance to the better Bandol rosés.

Une autre bouteille donnée de Warren. Fruits rouges mûrs bien équilibré. Profil classique de poivron vert et de fines herbes séchées. Élégant et bien fait. Amélioration après deux heures d'aération (Audouze).

Belle bouteille donnée par Lars, acheté à Vinopolis. Le bouchon et bouteille en parfait état. Nez réduit, un peu maîtrisé. Bouche charnue, concentrée et tannique, avec éléments de bouillon de viande, herbes séchées et de fruits mûrs. Un vin vraiment masculin et belle expression du cépage Malbec.

Quel merveilleux plaisir de boire une vieille bouteille de Moulin-à-Vent. Le bouchon était difficile à retirer, et complètement fragmenté. Terreux fruits rouges dense de cuir, de thym, et de chocolat noir. Il dévoile une bouche souple, douce comme le velours.

Even after 6 hours of air time, this bottle seemed a bit tight. Despite the caveat, there is real quality here. Beautifully structured wine with deep opaque fruit, cocoa powder, and earthy herbal elements. I suspect waiting several years on these would allow something really special to develop.
