Very different from the Kabinett - much more approachable. The nose is sweet melon, musky, herbal, honey and flowers. Delicious on the palate - lime, minerals, sweet&sour. Great acid/sugar balance, really mouth-watering. This clocks in at 10.5% alcohol, while the 13 Kabinett and Spat are at 8.5%. Egon said that this is completely due to chapitalization - trying to make a wine for earlier and easier drinking. It is also worth noting that all of the WBK fruit went into this. On this Egon said that 2013 was so short that he decided to put all the WBK fruit into this so that there was at least one wine in decent quantity. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 16-16.5/20.

Light and airy on the nose with spice and Melon. Sharp on the palate with flowers, lime, and stones. Nose - 4/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 0.5/2 = 12.5/20.

Nose of celery, melon, green grass, funky, talc, citrus - lime, tangerine. Tart lime on the palate, stones, minerals, lime finish. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

Nose of powdered stone. Palate is stony, flinty with tart lime. Dry finish. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 4.5/6, Finish - 4.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 15/20.

The nose is spicy, smokey with creamy orange. Palate is sharp, spicy, lemon, smokey, sweet/sour. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 13.5/20.

Light lime nose. Very stony with lots of white flowers. Powdered stone. Classic.

Closed down. Honey spice. Thick but not expressive.

Nose is stony with lime/lemon. Delicious - citrus, zingy, slatey. Electric and delicious with crisp tangerine, lime and slate. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17/20.

Nose of peaches, tropical fruits, stones, spices. Sweet on the palate with honey, peach, creamy, lime-tangerine. Great acid shows at the end. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1-1.5/2 = 17-17.5/20.

Green nose - herbal, starchy/potatoes, popcorn, saline? Palate shows bitter pit fruits and pits, popcorn - salt, herbal, vanilla. Herbal/green/wood finish. Nose - 4.5/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 13.5/20.

Stones and flint on the nose, sharp lemon, light and bony. Similar on palate - lemon, stones, sharp. OK. light and acidic. Somewhat harsh. Nose - 4/6, Palate - 4/6, Finish - 4/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1/2 = 13/20.

Brothy nose with stink - blue cheese, slate. Harsh entry - brothy, sharp, flint-steel. Very austere. Long steely tart lemon finish.

Nice stony nose - broth, golden, lemon. Saline on the palate with lemon and broth. Better than the 13's we tried in the lineup, which were too austere for my tastes.
