Flight 1 (5 notes)

White - Sparkling
1990 Bollinger Champagne R.D. Extra Brut France, Champagne
95 points
Oxidative nose with truffel, marzupan, mushroom. Taste stone fruit, again oxidative tones, with lovely and energetic acidic and mineral backbone. The balance of this wine is impressive.
White
2012 Reichsrat Von Buhl Forster Kirchenstück Riesling Großes Gewächs Germany, Pfalz
90 points
Typical Riesling nose, aromatic, white flowers, petrol, a bit young. Taste the same, flowers, orange, slight bitterness. Long finish. Clearly at the beginning of a long development.
Red
2008 Olivier Bernstein Mazis-Chambertin France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
94 points
Nose still a bit closed, opens slowly, red fruit, cassis. Taste smooth, concentrated, lots of fruit, integrated tannins, medium finish. This is starting to drink well, will improve with more cellar time I guess.
Red
1996 Château Cos d'Estournel France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe
93 points
Lovely nose, graphite, strong minerals, vegetal tones, taste red fruit, full bodied, soft tannins.
White - Sweet/Dessert
2001 Château d'Yquem France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes
98 points
Very impressive Sauternes. Liquid beauty. The moment you get this in your mouth you know everything is in the right place. Impressive balance of sweetness, acidity, minerals, saffran, crème brulee, stone fruit. Rich, fresh, mouthfilling, finish goes on and on. Wow wine.
