What is what?

All wines were tasted fully blind.

Flight 1 (3 notes)

Red
2005 Château Lamothe Vincent France, Bordeaux
87 points
Mature bouquet with red and dark berries and some autumn impressions, earth and tobacco. On the palate red berries, chocolate, dark berries, a touch of sweetness, good acidity and slightly sticky tannin. For a basic Bordeaux a surprisingly pleasant wine. Good the owner gave it some ageing. The wine is fully ready now.
Red
2010 Domaine de Montvac Vacqueyras Arabesque France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Vacqueyras
89 points
In the bouquet I think I can smell the syrah, with minerals, red and dark berries. On the palate a juicy start with good red and dark berries, beautiful acidity, some chocolate, spices and bitterness. Really pleasant wine in its maturity stage and it can easily last another 2 years or so. 88-89
Red
2014 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir New Zealand, North Island, Wairarapa, Martinborough
91 points
Concentrated bouquet with red and dark fruits, minerals and spices. On the palate juicy red berries, some metal, chocolate, cherries, earthy impressions and some bitterness in the finish. Beautiful and complex, concentrated wine. 90 - 91

Flight 2 (3 notes)

Red
2003 Château Rauzan-Gassies France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
91 points
Beautiful bouquet with red and dark berries, some earth, cigar box and a pleasant touch of barnyard. On the palate dark berries, chocolate, sweet spices and vanilla. Juicy fruits, good acidity and soft tannin with a good length. Elegant and well made wine which is ready now. No extreme hurry.

Red
2010 Xavier Vignon Côtes du Rhône 100% France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône
86 points
The bouquet is not so very expressive. On the palate red fruits acidity and buttermilk, a touch of sweetness as well. Easy going and supple wine.

Flight 3 (3 notes)

Red
2011 Achával-Ferrer Malbec Finca Bella Vista Argentina, Mendoza
91 points
In the concentrated bouquet dark and red fruits, cherries, oak and banana peel. On the palate juicy dark berries, oak, metal and vanilla. Concentrated wine. Still quite youthful. Probably wise to wait at least until 2020. 91+
Red
2004 Domaine Gourt de Mautens (Jérôme Bressy) Rasteau France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Rasteau
89 points
This bottle was quite mature and I still loved it, but for most of the other tasters it was too old. In the bouquet a lot of barnyard and animal flavors. Sweet spices and autumn forest as well. On the palate, chocolate, some sweetness, light acidity and some soy. Just in time before it becomes too old.
Red
2001 Château Poujeaux France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Moulis en Médoc
90 points
Classical Bordeaux bouquet with dark forest fruits, animals and rustic flavors as well as earth and sweet spices. On the palate juicy dark forest fruits, earth and autumn forest. Some lead pencil and luxurious oak. Day 2 the wine was even better. This bottle performed better than the one I has in December (from another source.)

Flight 4 (3 notes)

Red
2006 Pierre Gaillard Syrah Côte-Rôtie Malleval France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie
93 points
Beautiful bouquet with minerals, blood, animals and juicy red and dark berries. On the palate minerals as well, juicy dark forest fruits, flint stone, good acidity and slightly drying tannin. An intense, complex and beautiful wine. Early maturity now. 92 - 93
Red
1998 Clarendon Hills Shiraz Liandra Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, Clarendon
92 points
In the beautiful bouquet animals, leather, dark berries and minerals. On the palate chocolate, licorice, juicy acidity, some pleasant sweetness, good acidity and soft tannin. Intense wine. In fact this is a lovely and classical wine and fully mature. The sweetness gave away this must be a New World wine.
Red
2003 Château Prieuré-Lichine France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
91 points
Not so many notes; we were socializing too much.. ;-). In the bouquet earth and mushrooms. Classical, mature and beautiful. On the palate autumn impressions, dark forest fruits, beautiful oak and silky soft acidity and tannin. Beautiful and fully mature wine to drink between now and the end of 2018 (if this bottle is exemplary.)

Closing

I was very happy with my 100% score.
