In the bouquet pineapple, petrol and sweet impressions. Same on the palate, but there is hardly any freshness. The wine is still alive though.

In the bouquet sweet rose hips lemonade. On the palate a fully mature wine with leather and still pleasant acidity and bitterness. Has definitely been better, but still good enough to score.

Still remarkable purple hue. In the bouquet cassis, forest floor and mushrooms. On the palate still good black fruit juice, earth, oak, good acidity and bitterness. A well balanced wine which is fully mature, but still a pleasure.

Tasted from magnum. Light bodied but still beautiful wine with stable and barnyard impressions in the bouquet. On the palate cassis still, butter, leather, lead pencil, autumn forest, tobacco, beautiful oak, good acidity and bitterness and a long finish. Completely ready now and in fact still very luxurious.

Golden brown. In the bouquet and on the palate raisins and zest, butterscotch, beautiful and intense sweetness which is beautifully balanced by good acidity. The wine has an enormous length.

The color is still remarkably dark, but quite brown of course. In the bouquet chocolate, iodine and not a 100% fresh anymore. On the palate high acidity, autumn forest, some sweetness and still drinkable, but not really a feast anymore. No score.

Yoghurt lemonade in the bouquet, tea leaves as well. On the palate chocolate and iodine, high acidity and still drinkable and interesting, but I don't score the wine.

Organic and very tertiary bouquet. On the palate only a carcass of acidity remains. No score.

In the bouquet some licorice and chemicals. On the palate a lot of acidity and bitterness, but nothing pleasant anymore.

Tasted from magnum. True Pauillac with black berries like cassis, graphite, firm acidity and the tannin still has a bite.

Beautiful and complex, mature bouquet. On the palate a firm amount of acidity and bitterness. Soft and drying tannin, but still alive.

Garnet red. The bouquet shows some refinement and candy. On the palate red berries and autumn forest, juicy acidity, some sweetness and pleasant bitterness. Long and slightly sweet finish. Amazing.

Garnet red with a brown rim. Interesting bouquet with smoke and earth. On the palate good juice with licorice, autumn impressions, bitterness and in the long finish drying acidity. Really amazing the wine is still so much alive.

Light garnet red. In the bouquet dusty and acidic. On the palate a sweet start. I also wrote down "wet laundry". Disappointing wine/bottle and no score.

Dusty bouquet which also shows some spiciness. On the palate a sweet start with ripe black fruit juice, some sweetness and also firm but good acidity. The tannin is a bit drying in the finish. Several tasting notes about this wine in CT and the wine is clearly on its way down. See my other notes and scores. For today I (blind) scored the wine 90 - 91.

Pity, organic, wet laundry. Faulty bottle which is too old.

Quite dark color. On the bouquet a bit organic and quite old. On the palate the wine shows better with still some black berries, salty licorice, juicy acidity, some butter and slightly drying tannin in the finish.

The bouquet is not very expressive. On the palate juicy dark berries, juicy berry fruits, some maturity and slightly drying tannin beside the juicy acidity. Not really impressive, but certainly very ok, even beside the other wines in this tasting 86 - 87.

Beautiful bouquet with ripe fruit juice and a pleasant dose of oak. On the palate ripe blackberries and blueberries and autumn forest floor. Beautifully soft acidity and round, juicy tannin, full bodied and a good future. The wine still has a good bite and future.

Beautiful bouquet with pleasant barnyard, dark berries and vanilla. On the palate a round and elegant wine with still some dark berries, chocolate, good acidity and soft tannin.

Beautiful and complex wine, not extremely concentrated, but with an enormous complexity and refinement. Beautiful sweetness, good acidity and a long finish.

Beautiful bouquet with dark berry juice, sweet spices, licorice, soft and round acidity and tannin. Long finish with some pleasant sweetness. Don't wait too long anymore (is what I wrote in 2005).

Dark ruby. Fairly complex bouquet. On the palate a complete wine with beautiful and juicy dark fruit juice, vanilla, pleasant acidity and good bitterness. The tannin is round and soft. Long finish; mature, but very beautiful.

Ruby red. In the bouquet barnyard, and dusty. In fact the wine was corked. No more notes and no score.

Dark and intense bouquet. On the palate a firm and sticky wine with a lot of dark berries, good acidity and sticky tannin. Long finish and in fact a beautiful and still youthful wine.

In the bouquet barnyard, lead pencil, leather, vanilla, cedar, dark berries and in fact really complex. On the palate juicy dark berries, licorice, vanilla and a firm amount of bitterness. Good acidity and tannin and the wine fills the whole mouth in a beautiful way. Great wine and still a future of another 5+ years.

Ouch, what a shame; heavily corked.

In the bouquet creamy dark berries, lead pencil, oak and cedar. On the palate juicy cassis, silky, good fruit juice, very luxurious and harmonious. Good acidity and still somewhat drying tannin. Excellent wine with still a good future.

Beautiful and refined bouquet with beautiful juice. On the palate great juice, luxurious oak and good and ripe juice. Good acidity and the tannin is still beautiful, but also showing some signs of ageing. Overall a very beautiful wine.
