White - Sparkling
N.V. Marie Courtin Champagne Eloquence Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut France, Champagne
Based upon 2014 juice. Light, crisp hay and lemon. Tart, stony finish. Bristling with energy and potential, better in 2 or 3 years.

White
2014 Alphonse Mellot Sancerre Edmond France, Loire Valley, Upper Loire, Sancerre
Light yellow. Pungent green pepper and white grapefruit peel. Medium weight, really no trace of wood, good intensity and acidity. More varietally distinct than many wines I've had from Mellot, which you may or may not like depending upon your tolerance of greenness in Sauvignon. Not nearly as broad and textural as past vintages.
Red
2010 Domaine Tempier Bandol France, Provence, Bandol
Decanted for 2 hours. Ruby core with lighter outer third. Some familiar Tempier funk (or is that just Mourvèdre?) as well as green herbs on the nose. Clean on the palate though with gently sweet blueberry and black fruit, a strong acid core, some stemminess, and real minerality on the finish. Still quite firm and could benefit from at least another 5 years.

Red
2010 Paul Jaboulet Aîné Crozes-Hermitage Domaine de Thalabert France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Crozes-Hermitage
Decanted for 2 hours. Dark ruby almost to the meniscus. Quite stunning aromas of violets and blackberry jam-could this be anything but Syrah? Lush, full, and mouth coating without feeling overly ripe or heavy. Wonderfully pure fruit and a thin veneer of wood, rich, round back end tannins. OK, this doesn't possess great complexity or soil at this point and probably could be confused with New World Syrah, but my goodness, the depth of fruit is thrilling.

White - Sweet/Dessert
1994 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Heimbourg Sélection de Grains Nobles France, Alsace
Half bottle. Amber. Soaring aromas of acacia honey, peach, and apricot. Sweet, pure, high toned fruit, superb leavening acidity. This is my second spectacular experience with this in slightly over a year. Miraculous dessert wine.
