Disgorged December 2017, 70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir. Lots of apple start-to-finish with toasted baguette notes. Good weight and balance, very easy to enjoy now.

Rich orchard and stone fruit right out of the gate with impressive density and a bright, well textured finish. Simultaneously rich and nuanced. Stayed persistent through the evening, possibly slightly starting to tail off after open 4 hours. Served alongside Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey 2009 Bâtard-Montrachet, which took much longer to come around but ended up equally glorious.

Reductive start, helped by a quick decant. Lithe and very bright when first tasted, this gradually and begrudgingly opened up into a powerful and energetic wines with bright textures, especially good for the vintage. Served alongside Ramonet 2009 Bâtard-Montrachet, which was so enticing immediately, but the Colin-Morey ended up equally enticing.

An enticing and joyous wine, perfect for the holiday season with juicy red cherry and berry throughout and so much baking spice. Good weight and depth, perhaps not quite what I would expect from Grand Cru from a top producer, but a great performance for the 2013 vintage. Good already now. Served alongside the perplexing/ reticent 2010.

2010 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Corton Domaine Prince Florent de Merode France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton Grand Cru
Opened two+ hours before serving with a quick double decant, then enjoyed over three hours. My first time trying this wine in the 2010 vintage, this showed so much concentration and depth, even good+ balance, but never really provided great pleasure. In contrast, the 2013 in the next glass couldn't stop being fun, bright and tasty, even without the density of this 2010. Tough to assess. Sadly, my only bottle.
