Introduction

Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought yourself was poured.

Flight 1 (14 notes)

Red
2005 Mas de Daumas Gassac France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Vin de Pays de l'Hérault
90 points
Rustic bouquet which is even slightly locked, but shows some dark berries and vanilla. On the palate a lot of sweet spices, red berries, forest floor and autumn impressions, juicy acidity, good acidity and mature, round tannin. A beautiful wine in its maturity stage and with still future as well.

In the mouth a beautiful and round mouth feel with a lot of sweet spices, juicy acidity, vanilla, a pleasant touch of sweetness, round tannin and a good length. Still a future of at least another 5+ years. Ready now and a beautiful wine.

Youthful and even lactic bouquet with dark berries, red berries, vanilla, fresh fruits and lactic and salty licorice. On the palate still a bit locked, dark berries, bell pepper, firm acidity and some lactic impressions, vanilla and cedar, chocolate and blackberry impressions. Beautiful wine, but still much too young.

2009 Château Durfort-Vivens France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux
90 points
For me this evening a bit a-typical with beside the black fruits in the bouquet impressions of metal and band aid. On the palate also minerals, some earthy impressions, spicy, juicy black berries and good acidity. Friendly and already in its (early) maturity stage. 89 - 90

In the bouquet coffee and chocolate as well as red and dark berries and sweet spices. On the palate a bit more complex with blackberries and red berries, vanilla, cedar, a lot of sweet spices, brown spiced biscuit, chocolate and some cigar box. Beautiful acidity, round and friendly soft tannin. For me personally a bit more developed than expected, but drinking beautifully now.
