I am not obsessed with perfection in wine, but this really has an air of perfection about it. Everything is right about this wine, everything is in the right place, intense and elegant, pure and precise, effortless ease, glorious fruit, super-refined tannins, marvellous length. So beautifully constructed, like a perfectly cut diamond or a Mozart symphony. Striking finesse. Delicious now, great future.

Third time drinking this. Silky, elegant, serious but relaxed. A gentle personality.

Tasted blind. Correctly identified as a top-quality Saint-Emilion, although I thought it came from the Côtes, and guessed 2016. Which is clearly a compliment. A resounding success for the vintage, youthful, energetic, good body and weight, elegance built around a firm minerally core, excellent precision and length.

Good ripe fruit, no sense of asperity at all, but the oak is a bit sweet and sticks out a bit.

Very attractive, ripe fruit, perfectly integrated oak, lovely precision and transparency, steely acidity, good sense of (northern Côte de Nuits) terroir, convincing finish.

Just released. Very sexy and inviting, but in an extremely elegant way. Marvellous precision and definition without any sense of austerity.

Just released. Much tighter than the Iruelas 2020. Palpable minerality, laser-like precision, huge energy, hewn from the rock, potentially even greater than its sibling, but clearly in need of more time too.

Quite big, very ripe fruit and noticeable oak, generous and flavoursome but hardly refined.

Magnum. Biodynamic viticulture, 100% Merlot from Vignonet, Saint-Sulpice de Faleyrans and Saint-Emilion. Pure and energetic, excellent terroir expression, showing very well already and with a good future.
