Bouquet initially slightly reductive with some smoke and flint. With time, starfruit, almonds, honey and hazelnuts emerge with good minerality, salinity and limestone. Good weight and density on the palate with a pretty long finish but somewhat lacking in tension and energy with the slightly lower acidity. Thought this was quite representative of the vintage - ripe and rich with good weight and depth.

A blend of a bunch of vines in the middle of the village and from Les Plantes. FM remarked that he is probably one of the few that takes premier cru grapes and blends it with his village!

Firing right off the bat. Elegant and lifted with very pretty red fruit dominating the bouquet - cola cherry and pomegranate immediately come to mind. Touch of violets, gooseberry, ripe red cherries with a slight tinge of candied apples rounding off the palate. This was not the most structured nor did it have many layers and depth but definitely the most ready wine tonight, this was such a joy with such poise, elegance and a hint of etherealness - such a fantastic tipple!

FM remarked that 2013 was a difficult vintage for them but was very proud of this wine

Hands down the best bouquet of the night! Seductive dark fruit, spices, dark cherries, violets with tinges of sage and earthy tones. Palate showed lovely purity of fruit but was pretty tight and not quite matching up to the expressiveness and the level of seductiveness of the nose. After some 30-45mins in glass, bouquet started showing some VA but palate amped up and started showing better concentration with florals, spices and dark maraschino cherries arriving at the fore. Good structure with a lengthy finish that should get much better with time.

Popped and left to breathe in bottle for 3 hours before serving. Restrained bouquet of dark roses, meaty hints, dark plums and spices but not quite showy as the likes of the fuees. A little shy and moody even, needs a bit more time to flesh out. Palate showed good concentration, depth and fantastic balance amidst powerful structure and power but not quite as ethereal and elegant so perhaps it really just needs a lot more time. Still very much a baby, took loads of coaxing and discipline to leave it aside! Would definitely wait this out for longer for at least 10 years!

Bouquet opened with cola cherry, raspberries, violets, some earth and a very light touch of dried red fruit. Slightly restrained showing some rusticity and a touch of greenness from what felt like stems. Palate showing glimpses of richness with good balance but I thought it lacked a bit of that complexity today and felt a bit "watery and airy". Alone it lacked a bit of magic but paired superbly with the tenderloin main course.
