2015 Château Pavie Arômes de Pavie France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Deep garnet color. Aromas of fresh blackberry, currant, cedar, clove, florals and hints of dill. Succulent and ripe on the palate, richly textured, adding iron and earth to the mix. Full middle palate with broad tannins, highlighting loamy earth and iron on the finish.

2012 Château Pavie France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
Deep, full garnet color. Alluring aromas of black cherry, cedar, nutmeg, lavender, paprika and rosemary. Seamless and elegant on the palate, showing darker fruit and adding notes of black tea. Richly textured, but with verve. Seamless and elegant, yet broad and expansive. Very fine tannins and long length.

Garnet color, medium, bright. Very floral nose with red currant, hibiscus, licorice and cedar. Very fresh and energetic palate with red fruit, tea and florals. Medium bodied. Higher in acid, with fresh ripe tannins.

Deep garnet-ruby color. Aromas of black raspberry, currant, lavender and rosemary. Fresh red currant flavors with hints of cedar to go along with the floral and herb secondary depth. Medium-bodied, well-balanced, medium tannins and moderate length.

Dense, deep garnet color. Aromas of black currant, raspberry, fresh herbs, purple florals, black tea and cedar. Fresh black fruit on the palate, highlighting tea, rosemary and mineral secondary notes. Firm, elegant density, lively and energetic, with nice secondary integration. Broad, smooth tannins finishing with very nice length.

Garnet-ruby color, hints of amber. Aromas of cedar, red currant, dried florals, loamy earth and black tea. Refined density on the palate, showing expressive mature fruit notes of red cherry and black raspberry, along with cedar, florals and spices - very nice secondary integration. Refined and resolved tannins, medium-plus finish. Prime drinking window.

Deep garnet color. Aromas of fresh red currant and blackberry, cedar, paprika, clove and lavender. Fresh and succulent ripeness on the palate, both rich and lively, well-integrated and intense, adding black tea and melted stone notes to the mix from the bouquet. Long, ripe, fine tannins with very nice intensity and length on the finish.

Deep, bright, full ruby color. Aromas of red currant, clove, cedar, licorice, crushed stone and leather. Refined and elegant palate, adding darker fruits, along with very nice secondary depth of minerals, five spice, graphite, tobacco and cedar. Full bodied throughout, well-framed acid and expression throughout, finishing with medium fine tannins and lingering black fruit zest.

Full dense ruby color. Aromas of red currant, licorice, anise, cedar and violet - nice intensity. Flavors of currant and black cherry, leather, five spice and black tea - fresh and lively. Medium-plus in weight, with nice lift. Full, plush tannins and good overall length.

Deep-ruby color. Darker fruited aromas of blackcurrant & blackberry, with graphite, anise, violets, leather, nutmeg, and cedar. Dense and impactful on the palate, with ample black fruit and emerging notes of tobacco and melted stone. Broad and expansive in the mid-palate, good acid balance and full round tannins leading to a big finish.

2021 Château Smith Haut Lafitte Les Hauts de Smith Blanc France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
Aromas of gooseberry, lemon, fresh herbs, white florals and stone. Fresh citrus on the palate, zesty and floral with notes of oak spice and hints of slate. Nicely framed acidity, smoothly textured, with good finishing length.

Aromas of stone, lemon zest, gooseberry, jasmine and exotic spices. Fresh citrus notes on the palate, along with honeysuckle and white florals, hints of clove and allspice. Medium-plus acid, silky throughout, big finish.

Aromas of black fruit, hints of vanilla, allspice, violet and cedar. Ripe black fruit and spices on the palate, adding a graphite note. Broad and structured, with full-ripe tannins and hints of mineral on the finish. Good overall length.

Aromas of blackberry, black plum, black peppercorn, coffee, earth, violet and clove. Broad-shouldered and structured, bold and ripe black fruit on the palate, with spices, cedar and dark florals, expressive throughout the mid-palate. Full-bodied, big tannins, full finish. The biggest and ripest wine tasted over the three days.
