absolute animal of a wine! fabulous fruit, great finish...mega tanins but very quickly came alive in the glass...needs 3 more years before we try again

This is one terrific bottle of wine, last had it a year ago and it was hot then but has really settled down...classic cote de rhone finish, great fruits and presence. Splash decanted and thoroughly enjoyed

Very very impressive bottle, received thru Jade for Christmas and couln't resist. Huge wine with fruits that won't stop, great balance and long finish. Will do well with aging, but suprised how approachable this is already.

This is a gigantic wine, hugely extracted with fabulous fruits; 15.9% alcohol is evident, might want to decant this one. Although unfiltered, there was very little sediment. We followed the 97 Cinq Cepages with the Hanna and it overwhelmed the cab blend. This has a good 10 years left and compared very well with the other mega-Syrahs we enjoyed over the holidays

Lovely fruits, blackberry and cassis fruit, a real mouthful. Came alive in the glass, but ultimately may not have the complexity of comparable 2003 Syrahs at this price point

The maiden voyage, solid syrah with good development in the glass, nice finish. Complexity not as evident as some of the other syrahs we tasted, but the competition was heavy

Huge fruit presence but very alcoholic, accounts for the mega-extraction but in the short term, definitely decant. Longer term bottle aging will definitely help pull all of this together

Hitting its stride, well integrated meritage blend. Did not decant, but was pleased with the balance. Previoius notes felt cab franc was too prominent, but did not have that impression. complex flavors with nice mouthfeel and balance, tannins under control. Had a bit left in the glass at the end of the evening, and it seems to have fallen apart...enjoy what you have in the next year or so

Doesn't jump out of the glass, some sort of aromatic with strong eucalyptus/cabernet franc presence hard to get past

At its peak, nice round finish, olive/eucalyptus note noticed. don't see this imporving much more
