This bottle has aged considerably. Possibly past peak, but still lovely.

Really delightful wine. Resembles an elegant high fashion model rather than a voluptuous Playboy centerfold.

Very dark and rich. Velvety tannins still quite apparent. Airing for a bit after decanting helps to enhance enjoyability of this huge wonderful wine.

Still a bit of tannin left, but fruit rather faded. Drinkable, but heading downhill.

Rather strong barnyard aromas and weak fruit flavors and a slightly unpleasant after taste. Tasted along side a Zio Tony Ranch from 2012 and the latter was much better. Certainly neither one was up to some of the other great wines from Martinelli.

Just an OK Syrah. But, definitely better than the 2011 Lolita Ranch in side by side tasting today. Martinelli makes some fabulous wines but this Syrah is just good, not fabulous.

Amazingly good after all these years. Just a touch of browning. Still lovely fruits and a slight feel of velvety tannin. Stored since release in a controlled cellar.

A beautiful, delicate, well balanced Syrah of a feminine style. Just a bit of Bret on decanting adding a sexy note which disappeared toward the end of the meal.

This wine is a real heavyweight. The empty bottle alone weighs 1220 grams, and full is 1960 grams. In addition, it has one of the deepest punts I have ever seen. I give the bottle alone 100 points. Hard to compete with that. Oh, the wine. Yes, it is a stunner too. It seemed a little dull on opening, but within 1/2 hour opened up beautifully into a 90 or 91 point delight. On average then, I give the bottle of wine a solid 95.

Lovely crisp Champagne with just the right amount of yeastiness balanced with chardonnay flavors to make for quite a special NV, worthy of the "Reserve" labeling. This bottle was disgorged March 2017.

When we had this wine several years ago we liked it quite a bit. Today we opened 3 bottles for a dinner party and they were all blah. No aroma. No interesting fruit, but still moderate tannins making a wine you did not want to take another sip of, and certainly nothing to serve to guests. Were they just becoming corked, which maybe wasn't noticeable yet when younger? I did think I got a whiff of cork on the worst of the 3. All 3 dumped out and replaced with a more delightful, yet less expensive wine. (Federalist - Dueling Pistols - 2012)

This opened with vanilla notes and rather harsh tannins masking fruit. After decanting and giving it a triple "MollyDooker shake" (see MollyDooker web site) it was greatly improved, becoming quite pleasant.

Just about perfect maturity for current drinking. Wonderful aroma. Big, bold, yet soft luscious flavors. Quite a bit of sediment, so requires decanting.

First bottle opened was flawed and undrinkable. Second bottle seemed fine and given an 86 rating. I have had this wine several times since 2014 and the drinkable bottle was still not up to what I remember the earlier ones being. They have been in temperature controlled storage since purchased from WTSO. Certainly a huge variability in bottles.

This wine is a crowd pleaser and tastes like a much more expensive wine. Dry, fruit forward, moderately intense and very pleasant. I do not taste any residual sugar as some prior notes imply. At this point the 2015 is better for me than the 2016 which recently began to appear and is just too young fresh juicy for me. Perhaps the 2016 is made with less intense grapes, or perhaps it will improve in a year. We'll see. Anyway, for $10 this wine is hard to beat, particularly the 2015.

A fabulous vintage Port. At least as good, if not better, than when tried 4 years ago. Huge amount of sediment but decanted off easily after standing for a week before opening.
