2/13/24, 3:53 AM - I was shocked by how approachable this 2019 already was. I normally wouldn't touch P-C before 10 years. All winemakers have had to deal with the hotter climate, so I would say it's a style change. The use of amphora seems to have had a big influence for this wine. But P-C already uses amphora for 10 years and it hadn't bothered me before. I just hope to see more of a Pauillac-profile again in the future.
1/25/17, 4:19 AM - £15??? Where?! :-)
1/25/17, 6:46 AM - Hi BenBlu, thanks for the tip, I'll keep an eye on it!
10/9/16, 2:09 AM - This bottle came from a perfect cellar. But it's a mediocre vintage and time to drink if you still have any.
6/17/14, 12:24 PM - Graag gedaan :-). Goed om te lezen dat de wijn in de smaak viel.
2/7/14, 1:01 PM - I'm not writing my notes for an audience, but if you're interested you could have tried Google Translate. Not completely flawless, but good enough.
2/8/14, 2:00 AM - Although I don't write for a public, my notes are not secret. I have no problems writing in English, but detailed descriptors of smell and taste are more accurate in my native language and therefore I find writing my notes in Dutch does the wines more justice. If you're interested in what I'm writing, use Google Translate (that would have taken you less time then writing these comments ;-) ). If not, don't further bother about mine, there are plenty of other notes on CT in English.
2/8/14, 3:47 AM - Since you seem to care so much about the community, social behaviour etc, why do you post so much tasting notes with just a score and no description at all? If you're so keen on posts that are useful for everybody on CT, you should be more consequent and make these useless notes personal as well. Pot... kettle... you know? ;-)I'm open to comments about my notes and if someone has a question I'm more than willing to answer, in any language I understand. I do have a problem with the way you're commenting though, using terms as anti-social, ignorance etc.I've said enough said about this, have a pleasant weekend!
2/8/14, 6:03 AM - No problem, here's the translation from Google Translate (which is pretty good imo) :"Bright yellow, slightly green tint. Gushing into the nose with citrus fruit, gooseberry, grass and napoleon sweets (a Dutch sour candy). Fresh acid. Bitterness in the quite long lingering finish."Enjoy your trip to South Africa!!
2/8/14, 1:12 PM - Not a bad idea, I might post a Google Translation next to my note from now on.I don't know which area you're visiting in SA, but if you have the possibility to visit Keet Wines in Helderberg (Stellenbosch), he makes an awesome Bordeaux-blend (5 stars from Platter) that's virtually unknown outside SA. Tell Chris a Dutch bloke told you about his wines, he'll know :-).
2/8/14, 2:07 PM - That IS a big trip, sounds great! I'm sure you'll taste some great wines, enjoy!
2/8/14, 2:14 AM - Grammatically not entirely correct, but I think you get my point :-).A beautiful, sexy beast. Quite modern, something I didn't expect from Beaucastel (having tasted only pre-2000 Beaucastels before this, which were all very traditional and full of brett).
12/6/13, 3:16 PM - Dan is de vraag natuurlijk: wat voor een wasmiddel gebruik je :-).
12/1/13, 8:14 AM - Ik ben geen man van m'n woord joh :-).
11/15/13, 11:49 AM - Yes... but how did it taste? ;-)
11/6/13, 11:27 AM - Deze fles stond 4 dagen open.
7/21/13, 1:57 AM - Je treft het wel zeg, balen zeg!Volgende fles bij mij.
6/6/13, 4:13 AM - :-)Best to get it of your chest!
6/6/13, 4:55 AM - I know mate... hence the :-) in my response to your remark.
3/29/13, 12:26 PM - Lekker, hè :-).
3/15/13, 5:14 PM - Pfff, het zou verboden moeten worden.Om het goed te maken morgen maar iets moois openmaken :-).
Thanks for letting us know about this problem. We will review your comments and be in touch soon with an update.
