Perfect cork. Dark ruby color. Wonderfully dry. Dark cherry balanced with earthy notes and a distinct minerality. Flavors are really in perfect balance, no residual sweetness. Did catch some modest sediment in final glass. This 05 is in a perfect spot.

Perfect cork. Dark garnet color. Black fruits and a strong rustic quality. Very earthy bouquet, picked up both moss and game, really evokes the forest floor that you love in an older Morey. This wine delivered way more than expected, strong fruit, balanced tannins, rustic bouquet. Thoroughly enjoyable to drink now, but still carrying lots of fruit.

Perfect cork. Deep purple color. Pronounced fruit to this, heavy black cherries and black raspberries, almost candied, lingering licorice. Tart fruit has overcome the tannins and dominate the profile. Might have more in common with California Cab than Burgundy, but still a fun, big fruit wine. Drink now, while it still has the fruit.

Perfect cork. Tart cherries. Hint of spice. The tannins have melded into the fruit giving great balance. Mouth feel was thicker than anticipated given villages. Deep ruby color. One hour of air was sufficient. A great Nuits, cannot wait to try the 05 Chevillon 1ers. This Villages is special.

Bought on release, perfect cork. Deeper purple color, silky texture. A bit hot and tannic when opened, but softened after a few hours in the glass. Definite wood fragrance and a surprising nutmeg spice for Volnay. Drink now, but only after ample air, but will hold and soften over another 3-5 years.

Black and red cherry core, with a hint of herbs and smokiness. Just starting to soften tannins, early in the drinking window.
