Almost perfection. Only a hint of what can now be called "Oxidation", since an over 15 yr old wine doesn't have PMox. Stunning wine with orange blossoms, dipped in honey and just the right amount of acidity. Perfectly balanced. A shame that there seems to be bottle variation here but when the bottles show, they show very, very well.

Despite the corroded capsule, low shoulder fill and cork that too easily pushed into the bottle, the wine was marvelous. This was one of the RC (Reserve Chateau) bottling and as always its seductive profile was loved by the group. I doubt this will get better with age but still enough acidity to last a decade or more.

This actually outperformed the 99 despite critical reviews otherwise. Maybe it was the best bottle in the batch but WOW! Elegant, silky, fully integrated, bright ruby color. Not going to get better but still a decade left at this level.
