Much better than the last one I opened. Gained some body and fruit is showing nicely. I'd say this bottle has some upside.

Waited to long on this one. Hot and grapey. A nice wine in it's price range if you consumed it young. 06 is not an aging vintage, especially at the value end.

Popped and poured . . . very spicy on the nose but closed and astringent palate.

Decanted the rest . . . much better after some air. Still very young and wild tannins but a nice core of complex red fruit showed itself along with the expected bracing acidity. Came around nicely after just 30-60 minutes. Appears to have enough fruit to last until the tannic aspect chills out a bit.

Cracked one of these last night, along with an 07 EW Eola-Amity bottling. Both were very reticent at first, nose and palate. However, the Eola-Amity came around rather nicely. Not quite thin, but very ethereal. Not quite bitter, but with bracing acidity. The WV bottling veered slightly into the negative side of both the thin/bitter quality. The question is what is the upside to these wines? Do they have more in the tank? Or should I have consumed them all within the first year? I have 3 more of each so I suppose I shall find out . . . these are certainly not everyone's cup o' tea, sort of on the anti flavor wine elite end of the spectrum . . . .

This wine was vibrant and still full of fruit and had enough grip left to avoid being overly round.

Initially a rather offputing chemical funk, something i've never experienced with an EW Pinot. The first glass was a bit disjointed but the next glass saw the off aromas subsiding and a rather full forward expression of dark fruited Eola-Amity terroir revealing itself. Lush but not offputting, it would seem this bottle is in a good window for consumption. Not a typical Russ Raney creation but preferrable to some of it's hot disjointed vintage mates in other winemakers productions from 2006. Held up well on the second night as well.

As usual with Eyrie the initial impression, based on the color (dark pink), made me wary that this would be a lightweight. And while it tended toward the elegant it was certainly not a inconsequential bottle. After 30 minutes of air this opened up very nicely. Vibrant yet nuanced red fruit with a note of wet stone and a sneaky long fiinish made this bottle an absolute delight. To this taster, this bottle is in it's prime and may go a few more years.

So the Evesham Wood 07 WV was popped today at the family Thanksgiving feast. I don't have detailed notes as I was more focused on the social aspects than the wine. I will say this bottle did not dissapoint. Nice red fruit and minerality on the nose and palate and was just awesome with food (turkey roasted in the Weber with sage butter and a touch of hickory and applewood smoke). I found the wine to be supple, balanced, and suprisingly complex for the price tag. Much better than the 06 and compares favorably to the 05 that I also really enjoyed. Will be interesting to track this bottle as I consume the rest over the next year or two . . .

This is my third go at this bottling. I'm pleased to report is was also the best showing yet. The hard edges are receding just a bit more and some nice aromatics and secondary flavors are improving the finish and mouthfeel. I'd say this wine is nicely into it's ideal drinking window.

Deep purple in the glass, heavy black fruit and crushed flowers on the nose, you could smell it as it was being poured. Palate was a velvety, dark-fruited blast. Rather one-dimensional but the bold fruit flavor was very nice and had a lingering finish and was not too sweet. No real secondary characteristics but an enjoyable bottle. I would not estimate that this has a lot of improving to do at this point. Drink up!

$14 bucks at Costco. Didn't blow me away; a simple wine but a nice clean fruit forward profile. Pleasant and worth the money.

In the past I have steered clear of this label as I had had some negative experiences. If you are in this camp as well give them another try. I think they have a new winemaker and it is really paying dividends. This wine had a wonderful vibrant nose and a great earthy/red fruit balance on the palate. It was great both before and during dinner and on the 2nd night as well. Nice complexity and $15 on sale at QFC.

This is always a favorite in it's price range (aprox $15 locally in Portland, OR). Red fruit and brisk acid highlight this food friend QPR wine. If you are looking for a lush velvety fruit bomb this is not it, but if you like a more austere food friendly wine you will enjoy this.

Great value PN. Strong red fruit on the nose with a wonderfully rich and balanced palate. Probably the best PN at this price point I've ever had ($13). Will buy again.

Smoothed out a bit from the last try. Not so much sour cherries but a nice supple palate of red fruit and wonderfully balanced. The only drawback is a clipped finish, but for the price a very nice wine.

Another great Oregon QPR. If you like a balanced wine that wears it's acidity proudly in tandem with it's fruit this is a great example. This was very nice. Will buy more for under $20.

Typical solid value from Evesham. After being open for over an hour the nose really expands to a nice fruity profile. The palate is nicely balanced with fruit and acid in good proportion with a surprisingly long finish for a wine in this price range. Just solid.

This was a nice Oregon PN, on the subtle end of the spectrum even for Oregon. Preferable to the Anden from this vintage which is just thin, sour, and disjointed. This was worth the $20.

Once this wine had some air the nose was very nice. Fragrant fruit and floral notes. The palate was merely average, a fruit-forward Washington Rhone blend. Wouldn't buy again at $20 but for $12 or so this would have been a nice value.

Fruity and drinkable. Agree that it is not really representative of a true Burgundian wine but better than a lot of similarily priced Cali wines I have tasted.

More complex than your run of the mill CDR, with a much more robust flavor profile. Dark fruit, spice, smoke and a touch of earth are all present in the nose and palate. Very nice and worth all of the $17 you can typically find this for.

A nifty Bordeaux from Graves. A brickish red color in the glass. Offers smooth vibrant fruit that is showing well young. More of a new world style but nicely balanced.

A wonderful deep deep red (blackish) color. This was a beautiful wine in the glass. A nice thick aroma on the nose that matched the taste. Not amazingly complex but wonderfully balanced with dark, deep fruit, velvety tannins, and just enough acid. A great feel and a nice finish for this Lanquedoc.

Restrained but pleasant nose, palate of sour cherries, slightly bitter on the finish but overall a nice wine, especially for under $20. Agree with previous poster that this will benefit from more bottle age. With a little softening on the edges I imagine this will show quite will in another year or two.

Fruit forward and very indicative of the positive side of this vintage in Oregon. Ripe without being cloying this PN has a luscious nose and ultra smooth palate full of rich black fruit. A sensuous finish to boot. The fruit is really singing right now but there is not a ton of acid/tannin in the profile so I don't picture this wine having a long cellar life. For now though it is a hedonistic joy.
